Post Apocalyptic Verisimilitude
"This writer has a world setting needs more thought and planning put into it. We start in a post apocalyptic New England town and given that, the setting logic seems internally coherent. We later learn what caused the end of civilization, but we find out later something else is going on which may or not be related, only then to cut to another group of characters far away with, even in a post apocalyptic world setting, resources that make no sense, mostly a lot of fuel and ammunition. Then we cut back again to find out it was something else that really ended civilization, even though the first thing started it, but it makes no sense as to why that second thing was allowed to happen given the first thing should not have led to it per se. Lastly, the writer tells, rather than shows, making the book read like a non-fiction work; don't say exactly what a character feels/thinks, show it in their actions and movements and dialogue. "
