Kurai’s Hockey

It’s a chilly day in Clawderwilde, the land of the self-governing animals. Winter has, cast its gnarly grip once again. The Feral Sea has frozen over for the most part and sea traders have ceased their work until warmth returns. Although things seem gloomy, something warm and fuzzy is bound to happen…

Kurai, a very small feral wolf, is hanging out with her friend, Ellie. Kurai has fluffy black fur and red eyes. Ellie has spiky green hair and pink eyes. In this universe, the war against predators wasn’t as severe. While predators are still heavily looked down upon, very few were executed.

“Kurai, it’s that time of year again!” Ellie exclaims, grinning.

“Winter time? Yeah?” Kurai asks.

“It’s estrus time!” Ellie says. “This time of year, we really have to be careful or else we’ll be under a male wolf’s command easily!”

“I don’t think I’ll ever fall for that,” Kurai says with a laugh. “Why would I let a male dominate my life decisions for an entire season?”

“Longer if you truly fall in love with him,” Ellie teases.

“Who would want me anyhow? I’m like, the smallest wolf around!” Kurai boasts.

“Someone somewhere is bound to be into that… Speaking of Bound… I think my son is off looking for females as well,” Ellie says with a grimace.

“Good for him,” Kurai says with a yawn.

“Yeah, well, he better watch his back. Alpha might catch him,” Ellie says.

“Good ol’ Alpha…” Kurai mutters.

“The time of year where females get mated and males clash bitterly, sometimes even killing each other,” Ellie says, shaking her head.

“Speaking of… RUN!” Kurai yelps.

Kurai and Ellie go running. Shortly after, a male wolf bounds in and starts humping the snow where the she-wolves once stood. The women made it safely out of there, but continue to run just in case. Nowhere is safe this time of year.

“Well, since neither of us have started our own Estrus yet, wanna go hang out at The Den?” Ellie suggests.

“Sure! I’ve got some activities I’d like to do instead of mating!” Kurai announces.

Kurai and Ellie run along back to a large den to the west of Clawderwilde City. Along the way, they pass a few animals, including wolves, who are playing hockey. Kurai doesn’t think much of this at first, but this will be important later! The Den is where a lot of the wolves like to hang out. The owner of The Den is Alpha Ōkami who oversees the well-being of all the wolves. He’s out right now, so it’s safe to enter.

“Kurai, Ellie, welcome back,” Suisen, a gold and white wolf announces.

“Hiiiii, Suisen! We just were out and about!” Kurai cries out.

“I might head out, soon… I’ve been feeling a bit antsy these past few days,” Suisen announces.

“It’s mating season, after all,” Ellie points out.

“Ah, yes, that explains it,” Suisen says with a laugh. “Can I help you two with anything while I’m here?”

“I could go for some ice cream,” Kurai says. “Get some for Ellie, too.”

“I can ask for myself, but thanks. Sure, I’ll take some ice cream,” Ellie says with a chuckle.

“We just got a shipment of vanilla ice cream from the beavers. Feel free to dig in. Just leave some in case some other wolf wants some,” Suisen says, wheeling out a large crate of ice cream.

“Thanks, Suisen!” Kurai cries out, cheerfully.

Suisen pads on out of the den, stopping briefly to stretch. Kurai looks at Ellie and Ellie looks at Kurai. Then, both of them begin devouring the vanilla ice cream. Kurai eats faster than Ellie, her tail wagging the whole time.

“Man, it may be cold outside, but ice cream ALWAYS hits the spot!” Ellie says, licking her lips.

Kurai eats and eats and eats, consuming more ice cream than a wolf her size should. She doesn’t stop until she has licking up every last drop of ice cream. Kurai sighs happily, lying on her back at the bottom of the ice cream tub. Her belly has become three times the size of her body.

“Kurai, I think you may have overdone it again,” Ellie says.

“Mmmm… That felt good…” Kurai moans, gently pressing on her overly stuffed belly.

“Alright, but Alpha is going to be mad if he finds out we ate all the ice cream again,” Ellie comments.

“Alpha can go cry a river. Can’t a woman have fun occasionally?” Kurai asks, yawning sleepily.

“Oh, Kurai…” Ellie says, grabbing her by the scruff and removing her from the ice cream tub. “I see now why Suisen is always worried about you.”

“I’m 2 years old…she need not worry about me so much,” Kurai says.

Two years may not seem like much, but a single year makes a wolf an adult. Kurai belches, almost puking some of the ice cream back up. Ellie sighs and rolls Kurai away, not wanting her to get caught in her misdeed. One thing to know about Kurai is that she is not only a feral, but a mutant, meaning she has powers that normal wolves don’t have.

“I’d gladly do it again! Get me another ice cream tub! Let’s see what happens if I eat TWO mega tubs!” Kurai hiccups as she is being rolled away.

“No, no… If I let you eat more, you might burst,” Ellie warns.

“I wouldn’t!” Kurai whines.

“I’m not too keen on cleaning up your mess if you accidentally go beyond your limit,” Ellie says, pawing Kurai’s tight fluffy belly. “That does feel kinda nice, though…”

BLORP! SLOSH! Kurai’s belly sloshes and moans loudly. Ellie giggles and keeps poking it. Kurai wags her tail, just happy to have company. Unknown to Kurai, the hockey players are about to wrap up their game…

“Oh, by the way, have you ever met Billy’s little brother?” Ellie asks, licking her own paws casually.

“Billy has a little brother?! Why didn’t Bella tell me?!” Kurai asks, looking shocked.

“He’s turning 1 soon. I heard he’s rather mature for his age, though,” Ellie says with a laugh.
