Chapter 1

It was a Friday evening in the heart of the city, the streets bustling with energy as neon signs flickered and music from arcades spilled into the air. Boyfriend, a young man with blue hair and a confident swagger, strolled through the streets with his portable microphone tucked under his arm. He was in search of the next stage, a new rhythm battle to prove his skills.

Boyfriend lived for music. Ever since he picked up his first microphone, he’d been unstoppable in rhythm battles, carving a reputation for himself as the fastest and most creative freestyler in town. But even with all his victories, something felt missing—his music lacked inspiration.

As he wandered, his ears caught a mesmerizing tune floating from a small stage at the corner of a lively park. Curious, he pushed through the crowd and saw her.

Girlfriend, with her crimson hair cascading over her shoulders, sat at a sleek digital piano, her fingers gliding across the keys effortlessly. Her eyes sparkled under the soft glow of fairy lights, and her voice carried a soulful melody that seemed to silence the chaos of the city. Boyfriend stood there, captivated, his heart pounding in a rhythm he couldn’t control.

When the song ended, the crowd erupted in applause. Girlfriend smiled shyly, stepping away from the piano. Boyfriend’s legs moved on their own, weaving through the crowd until he was standing in front of her.

“Hey,” he said, his usual confidence faltering for the first time. “That was... amazing.”

Girlfriend looked up, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush. “Oh, thanks! I was just messing around. Nothing serious.”

“Nothing serious?” Boyfriend laughed, holding up his mic. “That sounded like the real deal. How about we have a little fun? You and me, a rhythm battle. Let’s see if you can freestyle as good as you play.”

Girlfriend hesitated, glancing at the microphone. She wasn’t used to battles, but something about Boyfriend’s energy was infectious. She nodded. “Alright, but don’t hold back!”

They climbed onto the stage together, and the crowd buzzed with excitement. The beat dropped, and Boyfriend started, his confident voice riding the rhythm with ease. Girlfriend followed, her softer voice weaving harmonies that perfectly complemented his verses. Their music seemed to merge into one, drawing the audience into their world.

By the end of the battle, neither cared who won. They were grinning, breathless, and surrounded by cheers.

“That was incredible,” Girlfriend said, her eyes sparkling.

“You’re incredible,” Boyfriend replied, realizing he meant it.

The next few weeks flew by as Boyfriend and Girlfriend spent more time together, bonding over their love of music. They met at different spots across the city, from rooftop stages to underground clubs, battling and collaborating. Boyfriend felt a spark with Girlfriend that he’d never felt before, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that she was hiding something.

One evening, after a particularly intense battle, Girlfriend finally opened up.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” she said, her voice tinged with worry.

Boyfriend tilted his head. “What’s up?”

“My dad... he’s not just anyone. He’s Daddy Dearest.”

Boyfriend froze. Daddy Dearest was a legendary musician, known not just for his unmatched vocals but for his ruthless nature. If anyone challenged him and lost, they’d never be heard from again.

“And my mom,” Girlfriend continued, “is Mommy Mearest. Together, they’re... well, they don’t really like me hanging out with people who aren’t ‘worthy.’” She glanced at Boyfriend nervously.

Boyfriend smirked, flipping his microphone in his hand. “Worthy? Guess I’ll just have to prove myself.”

Girlfriend smiled, relieved by his confidence. “You’re insane.”

“Maybe. But I’m not backing down.”

The next Friday, Boyfriend found himself standing at the gates of a sprawling mansion. Girlfriend stood beside him, her hand slipping into his for comfort.

“Are you sure about this?” she whispered.

“Positive,” Boyfriend said, his grip firm. “No one’s keeping us apart.”

The gates creaked open, and the couple stepped inside. The mansion was as intimidating as the man who owned it, with dark, ornate decor and an air of danger. In the grand hall, Daddy Dearest stood waiting, his imposing figure casting a long shadow.

“So,” Daddy Dearest said, his voice dripping with disdain. “You’re the punk who’s been hanging around my daughter.”

Boyfriend raised his mic. “That’s right. And I’m here to prove I’m not just some punk.”

Daddy Dearest laughed, a deep, menacing sound. “You’ve got guts, kid. Let’s see if you’ve got talent.”

The battle that followed was the most intense Boyfriend had ever faced. Daddy Dearest’s vocals were powerful, each note a challenge that pushed Boyfriend to his limits. But Boyfriend didn’t back down, his determination fueled by his feelings for Girlfriend.

By the end of the battle, Boyfriend was sweating, his breath coming in ragged gasps. But he’d done it. He’d held his own against Daddy Dearest.

Daddy Dearest frowned, clearly unimpressed. “You’ve got potential, but you’re not there yet. Prove yourself against Mommy Mearest, and maybe I’ll reconsider.”
