Long distance relationships with a twist

"This was a good story for the most part, although personally I am not a fan of being married so young. You haven't lived long enough to understand life's nuances and appreciate what you have. The two couples marrying and then instantly separating was not a recipe for success. I think they would have been better served to stay as unmarried couples until they could both be closer to each other and then tying the knot, but that changes the story dynamics. Good military sequences, you could almost see the interactions with their fellow soldiers and then the war footing. I would have liked to know if their officer, Vance I believe?, got courtmartialed and imprisioned for his cowardice under fire. His way of leading from behind should have been spotted before it cost the lives of his soldiers though, but that again is not expected in the old boys network. For the couples, it made sense to have each of the dominants married to a more girly girl, as I believe you mentioned in the book, but then having two dominants marry worked too. They took the time to get to really know each other and see if it would work rather than rush into it. The one I feel sorry for most though is Elsie. She got preyed upon by Kate, caught in a weak moment when she thought her wife was killed in action and then basically fell apart. Kate continued to abuse her sexually, and by abuse I mean she took advantage of her mental state when she saw how it was affecting her. By the time she found out her wife had survived it was too late. Kate would have made a good guy character as she had a lot of the predatory instincts that are stereotypical to males in relationships. i.e " If you loved me you would do this for me". She didn't have a lot of thought for Elsie during these times, just happy she had her first love. All in all a good read. It dealt with the scenario you wanted it to and explained both sides of the cheating satisfactorily. "
