Chapter 1: The Locket’s Secret
Emma Carter, a historian specializing in lost love stories, arrives at Whitmore Estate, an abandoned Victorian mansion scheduled for restoration. While exploring, she stumbles upon an antique locket hidden inside a dusty desk drawer. Inside the locket, she finds a delicate, faded love letter from the year 1863, written by a man named Alexander Hastings. The words ache with sorrow—he speaks of a love that was stolen by fate.
Intrigued, Emma spends the evening researching Alexander but finds little historical record of him. That night, as she examines the locket under the full moon, a strange golden glow emanates from it. Before she can react, a wave of dizziness overtakes her, and everything fades to black.
When she awakens, Emma finds herself lying in a lush Victorian-style bedroom, the scent of fresh candle wax in the air. The furniture is antique—but untouched by time. Confused, she stumbles toward a mirror and gasps. The reflection staring back at her is not her own—it is Eleanor Whitmore, the woman the letter was meant for.
