Chapter 1
Rylie | Ry
Her face held a frown as she repeatedly texted her brother, asking where he was. She should’ve known today was finna be some bullshit. First, she woke up late, which made her late for her first call of the day. You would’ve thought that after that, her day would’ve gone a little smoother. Nope, she walked outside to see her car missing, only for her mom to say she told Destin, her brother, that he could take it to run an errand. Then her raggedy ass mother decided she wasn’t dropping Ry off at the college, making her catch an Uber. A normal person would’ve gone back inside, saying fuck school, but Ry decided to keep pushing, and the Uber showed up late, making her miss her first class.
When she got to her second class, somebody was sitting in her seat. The class didn’t have assigned seats, but Ry literally sat there every day, so she had to sit in the back of the class, and guess what? She didn’t have her glasses. Ry couldn’t win today; all she wanted to do was go home and cry. Class went out twenty minutes ago, and here she was waiting for her own car, refusing to spend money on an Uber again. She called Destin, only for the phone to go straight to voicemail. Feeling herself about to cry, she took a deep breath.
“God, I’m definitely not one of your toughest soldiers. Please stop playing. I will walk into traffic right now.” She mumbled
She called Destin’s phone one more time, getting no answer again. The tears started rolling down her face, feeling defeated. She took a deep breath, wiping her tears, while opening up the Uber app for the second time today. There’s no reason she should be taking an Uber when she has a car that she paid for in full by herself.
“You look beautiful today.”
Ry blinks a couple of times, trying to get herself together. She looked to the side to see Shedur Sanders standing beside her with his hands in his pockets. Shedur had on the typical football player class wear sweat pants, graphic tee and slides. Ry had seen him a handful of times on campus; apparently, he did online and just came on campus for tests. It wasn’t none of her concern what he did, but people talked in class, and she listened.
“Thanks” She nodded
She hoped he would walk away, but he didn’t. The day she was having a conversation was the last thing on her mind.
“I was hoping I could get your number.”
“Sure”
He handed over his phone, and Rylie typed in her number just as Uber pulled up. She handed his phone back, saying goodbye, before walking away to her Uber. She couldn’t wait to get home; everybody was finna get a piece of her mind. Stupid bitches.
Shedeur | Sanders
shedeur walked back to his friend group with a smirk on his face. He had lost a bet yesterday in practice, so the next girl he saw in public, he had to get her number. They thought he was pussy and was gone back out on the bet at the last minute, but Shedeur couldn’t go out that sad. He had no intentions of texting this girl; he just wanted to prove them wrong. The group shook their heads while laughing, not believing that he actually went through with it. Shedeur didn’t know that they purposely sent him to get her number because she wasn’t his type at all.
“Now you gotta take her on the date.” Shilo laughed
“Fuck no, that wasn’t part of the deal.” Shedeur frowned
“Yes, it was. You were just so jumpy to prove us wrong that you weren’t listening to what we said,” Colton trolled.
“Fuck that I wouldn’t be caught in public with her.”
“Y’all dead as childish as shit that girl enjoying life, and here come y’all immature asses,” Colton’s girlfriend said.
Shedeur shrugged his shoulders, not listening to anything she was saying. If he had to take her on a date to win this bet, then he was going to do just that. Everybody else could kiss his ass. writing here…
