The Last Goodbye

Jane had always been a woman of quiet strength, her laughter like a melody that could light up the darkest room. But that laughter had faded over the months, replaced by a silence that spoke volumes. Her boyfriend, Daniel, had changed. Once charming and attentive, he had become possessive, controlling, and violent. Jane had tried to leave him several times, but he always found a way to pull her back in, his apologies dripping with false sincerity.

One stormy night, after a particularly heated argument, Daniel’s rage spiraled out of control. Jane, desperate to escape, made a run for the door, but he caught her by the wrist. The struggle was brief but brutal. When it was over, Jane lay lifeless on the floor, her wide, unseeing eyes staring at the ceiling. Daniel, panic-stricken, buried her body in the woods behind their house, hoping to erase the evidence of his crime.

But some things cannot be buried so easily.
