Waste of potential
While everyone was struggling on their math test, Sayoka found it so easy he was yawning, he was virtually uninterested.
“This test is too easy for me.”- Sayoka’s thoughts as he easily answered one difficult equation after another.
“His intellectual ability surpasses anyone I have ever seen…it is truly a sight to behold. He does everything with ease.”- Even his teacher was shocked by his intelligence.
“He has the potential to be the next Einstein…or even better.”- His physics teacher is just as enamoured as his colleagues.
But they also knew something about him that was detrimental to his potential.
“He is his own worst enemy….he seems uninterested in his talent.”- His physics teacher once said to his colleagues.
“I have no interest in math or academics so I don't know why people are making such a big deal out of this..I find school boring…..It’s nothing but a chore to me”- Sayoka once said.
Sayoka was lazy.
“Uhh…I don’t feel like doing my homework….I just want to sleep.”- He said as he yawned and went back to sleep.
Sayoka was aimless.
“So what do you want to do after high school?”- Sayoka’s mother said as they gathered at the dining table.
“I don’t know…..I have no aim.”- Sayoka replied nonchalantly.
Even his math teacher asked him the same question and Sayoka replied;
“I don’t know what I want to do. I have no interest in anything.”
Although on the outside he was emotionless and detached, what went through his mind was different.
“Life is unfair!!!! While my mates enjoy wealth and privileges, I have to struggle for everything!!! I give up.”- Those are Sayoka’s thoughts as he woke up one morning.”
“Everyone tells me that I can be great at whatever if only I have ambition but that’s nonsense this world is unfair so there’s no point in trying.”- Sayoka laments to his teacher.
“Sayoka is merely cruising through life on autopilot….he’s just there…aimless and hopeless…unfortunate because he could have been so much more. He could have changed the world for the better but instead he chose to be a man without ambition.”- Sayoka’s math teacher said on his report card.
