Chapter 1
Maura and I are at the doctors office.Maura is getting inseminated with my eggs, which were somehow turned into sperm. Maura, her biological mother, Dr. Hope Martin, her identical twin sister, Dr. Caitlin Martin and Maura's doctor. Janine Beck has explained to me how my eggs are turned into sperm. It doesn't matter how many times they explained it to me. I don't get it. What I do get is that it can work, and we will find out in a few days if she is pregnant with a girl. We are only doing this once. We already have the names picked out but are keeping it to ourselves. Maura has a difficult time being examined or even having any doctor examine and especially inside her vagina after being raped by a few men before we fell in love and got married. We have been married for three years now.
"Dr. Isles, you can take a home pregnancy test on Friday to see if you are pregnant or not. If you are, please come in at 9 Monday morning so we can do a test to make sure you are. Please refrain from having sex or anything inside your vagina until after your appointment on Monday." We agreed we wouldn't. She left, and Maura put her red panties, her black scrubs pants on with hee adidas solid black tennis shoes on. She grabs her purse, and we leave in her black Mercedes with me driving us back to the police station so we can eat lunch at the Dirty Robber where my mother, Angela, works at.
" Jane, I hope this works. I won't be able to handle it again. The cost of the procedure is irrelevant." "Maur, everyone we know is praying for us we do plus us." We arrive, and I park my wives car in her parking space that has Dr. Isles only. We get, and I hit the fob to lock her doors, which automatically turns on her alarm when I hit the locked button a second time. The horn beeps tell us the alarm is activated. Captain Cavanaugh asks how she is feeling. She replied, hopeful.
"After you two have lunch, we had a double homicide. Pike did one of the bodies. Please make sure he didn't miss anything. He already pissed Frost, Korsak, and Rizzoli. He left for the day." " He has medical appointments for the rest of the day, Sean. I will go over his work and begin the second one." We go our separate ways. We make our way inside. Our nephew, TJ is eating at the counter while my mother is taking orders. He sees us and jumps off the stool and runs to Jane. She scoops him up. " Hi auntie's, my dad left me with Grammy. He had to go to work and the babysitter is sick."
We tell him he can sit with us. Maura gets his chicken nuggets, french fries and his soda. I have him sit down. My mother asks us our usual. We tell her yes. My usual is a large fries, double cheeseburger with the works and beer. I let her choose tne beer. Maura's usual is a glass of wine and ceasar's salad. I order the large fries because Maura eats some of them. She puts our order and returns with our water with a slice of lemon in it and sits down with us. She is on her break. " Honey, how you feeling?" " Okay, we go back Friday morning to see if it works." Harry yells for my mother to get our lunch. She only goes and gets it because it's ours. Otherwise, she told him to wait. TJ tells us he is excited to have a cousin. He tells us preschool was boring because his friends were out sick. We are enjoying our lunch when Frankie, my brother who is now a detective now instead of beat cop joins us. Our mother gets up and takes his order and detective Barry Frosts order and leaves. Our mother lives in the gatehouse of our home by the back yard. Frankie comes for breakfast every morning. "Maura, we are glad your back. As usual he pissed us off. " Sean told me. I will go over his work than do the second autopsy. He won't be back today. They nod their head as they sip their budweiser beers . "Barry, how is your mother doing?" "Dr. Isles she is doing well keeping busy. " They ordered what Jane ordered and begin eating. TJ asks to come with me so he can play on my IPad. I tell him yes. The three of us are done. We leave Angela a tip and go pay our bill. TJ kisses and hugs Jane goodbye and I do the same. Jane walks into the police department area, and we take the elevator to the basement. I unlocked my office door once we got past the first unlocked doors. I put my purse down and get my iPad from the charger and go to the game section on it, and hand it to him. "Tj, if you need me come and get me."
" Okay, auntie. " I kiss the toss of his head and review the autopsy report before I do anything else.
Korsak and Nina are telling me the findings on Scott Henderson and Tim Allen.
