Chapter 1
“Ahhh, my head!” she exclaimed as she woke up. “Didi, wake up! My head is exploding!” I said to the figure lying beside me.
Reena groggily opened her eyes. “Shut up, Rey!” she muttered, rubbing her temples.
I sat up, supporting my back against the headboard. “You’re saying that as if you didn’t just make me drink that new strawberry alcoholic drink!”
Reena smirked. “Well, you liked it, at least!”
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted us. “Mam, may I come in?” our maid, Gayatri, asked.
“Come in,” I replied.
Gayatri entered. “Mam, you have a business meeting in one hour.”
I widened my eyes in alarm. “What time is it?”
“It’s 11 am, mam,” Gayatri replied.
I kicked Reena, and she fell to the floor. “Look! I’m already late! Reena, I’m going to kill you!” I screamed.
Reena rubbed her back as she stood up. “Bish, I’m the one who gave you the idea to start this business. Don’t blame me for your tardiness!”
I shot her a frantic look. “I’m grateful for that, but don’t sabotage our business too!”
Reena shook her head. “If you weren’t my sister, I’d make you regret kicking me out of bed!“she said “do I look like i care now get out of my room!” I exclaimed ″Open your eyes correctly, dear sister! Ye mera room hai! Now get out of my room!′ Reena said with a smug.
I threw a pillow in her direction. ‘Gladly!’ I said, flustered, as I walked out of the room and into my own room. I closed the door behind me.”
I rushed to the bathroom to shower and dress. As I applied my makeup,I came downstairs as I yelled out, “Gayatri ma!”
Gayatri appeared from the kitchen side as she wiped her wet hands with her saree’s pallu as she asked her with a smile “Yes, beta?”
“I’ll come and eat lunch directly, okay? Make sure my dear sleepyhead sister doesn’t oversleep.”
The maid chuckled. “Of course, beta. Now hurry, it’s already 11:45.”
I grabbed my bag and rushed out the door. “Driver!” I exclaimed, spotting our white Audi waiting outside.
“Take me to Hotel Vishram, and drive faster, please. Thank you!” I sat in the back seat
At 12:20 pm, I walked into the private room for the meeting and took my seat. “You are late, Ms. Desai!” a dark-haired man with grey strands said.
I smiled. “A queen is never late, Mr. Desai! It’s just the other guests who are simply early.”
“Now, shall we start the meeting?” I asked with a polite smile.
“Of course,” the same dark-haired man replied with a smile.
The meeting concluded, and everyone took their leave except for my father and me.
“So, Father, when did you return from Dubai?” I asked as I walked toward him.
“Today morning, when my both daughters were unconscious due to alcohol,” my father said, shaking his head.
I rolled my eyes. “Oh please, Dad, it’s Reena’s fault. She made me drink that strawberry tonic, saying it’s her new recipe.”
Rajendra smiled. “Yet you accompanied her, even though you didn’t know what was inside the drink.”
I rolled my eyes. “Oh please, what if she dies? I would be alone, with no one to fight with and that annoying smug!”
Her father chuckled. “Of course, of course. Now let’s go home and surprise her!”
I nodded, smiling. “Sure, Dad.”
