Prologue
OLIVIA
The pain I felt was unbearable, as I, a 13 year old, had a grown man force himself on me. I don’t remember much of how it all started, but I do remember the look in Gareth’s eyes. He worked for my parents, my parents knew of everything that happened behind closed doors, but they never did anything to save me — their daughter.
I remember the way Gareth harshly gripped my thighs, forcing me to spread my legs, as I sobbed, begging him to stop. I begged and begged, he didn’t listen. He never listened.
I could feel him harshly thrusting in and out as I squirmed uncomfortably. The pain wasn’t like any other I had felt before.
My legs shook as I tried to kick him off me, my throat was sore from all of the screaming. When was this going to end? I cried out in pain as he harshly gripped my breast, squeezing it tightly.
“Continue screaming and you’ll see what happens.” His voice was deep, and croaky. His eyes were dark and narrowed. He was truly terrifying. I turn my head to my right, there was a knife on the table.
I had to be quiet. I knew that now. I feared for my life in this moment.
“Yeah, good girl.” He growled, biting down on my nipple and sucking at it. I took a deep breath, trying my best to ignore the pain.
“P-Please stop.” I mumbled quietly. “I’ll do-do anything, just please.”
Gareth stopped for a moment, and I could practically see the gears turning in his head. He pulled out of me, and I shakily sighed in relief.
“I want you to suck it.” He said harshly, laying down on my bed and picking up the knife from the table next to it.
“What?” I asked quietly.
He held the knife, pointing it towards me. “Suck. It.”
REMUS
I don’t really know what I was supposed to be doing. James had me, Sirius and Peter playing a board game that I had never heard of before. So, I had no idea what to do.
“You can’t do that!” James exclaimed, picking up the green figure and placing it back into the spot marked as kitchen.
“Why?” I asked. I was thirteen years old, and had no idea how to play board games. I really was useless sometimes. Board games weren’t my thing, but books? I could read for hours.
“Because that’s a wall.” James calmly explained, pointing to the black outline. “This is where the door is.” He dragged his finger along the black outline, and pointed at the open spot.
“Oh,” I mumbled, shrugging my shoulders. “Okay, but I prefer my version of walking through the walls better.”
James shook his head in amusement, as he shared a look with Peter. Peter’s figure was the purple one, I can’t remember their names, though that didn’t matter because I know their names had something to do with the figures colours.
I move my green figure eight spaces, landing in the ball room. I pick up my sheet of paper and look at what I had crossed off. “I think… I think it was the red one, with the dagger, in the ballroom.”
I move the red figure and the dagger into the ball room. I look to Sirius, who was sat next to me. He shook his head, meaning he didn’t have any of those cards. Next to Sirius was Peter. He also had none of the cards. The last option was James. Unfortunately, he had none of the cards.
Sirius smirked. “I’m so going to win.”
His next roll, he was able to make it to the middle, revealing what he thought was the winning cards: Red, Dagger, Ball Room. He took the three cards out of the yellow envelope, and took a look at them.
Then, he let out the most angriest and frustrated sigh I had ever heard him let out. “This is stupid!” He yelled in annoyance. “Not only did Remus bluff, big time, but why am I the flipping girl?!”
