Social Disconnection

Search, search, search the web,

For friends around the world,

Meet, Meet, Meet, Meet away,

Add new friends every day.

Know, Know, Know that you,

Are part of this virtual world,

Living, laughing, working, dancing,

No need to leave the room.

Try, try, try to get away,

There’s no escaping now,

They’ve got you right where they want you,

No signing off allowed.

Try, try, try your best,

To break off from the web,

But that is where your life is,

You’ll live here ’til the end.

Don’t, don’t, don’t believe me,

Sign off anyway,

But you’ll discover that you can’t;

Your profile won’t fade.

Soon, soon, soon we all,

Will be trapped on the web,

Wanting to escape this fate,

But this we cannot mend,

Too, too, too, too late,

We’ve learned we cannot leave,

We can’t exist without this world,

We can’t even breathe.

Know, Know, Know that you,

Are part of this virtual world,

Living, laughing, working, dancing,

No need to leave the room.

Don’t, don’t, don’t fight this,

You might as well abide,

Living, laughing, working, dancing,

On the virtual side.

Try, try, try your best,

To fit in on the web,

That is where your life is,

You’ll live here ’til the end.

mariedavismd312: This was Avery spiritual read. The last 2 chapters where very disappointing. That was such a let down unless there is a sequel. Burgess should have been punished for what he did. There was no explanation for his hatred for Jeremiah. I figured he was being set but just had the wrong person. I loved ...

Kyle: Love it in all honesty. Slightly longer than I had assumed but it’s great. There’s just some conflicting words used in the story.
