The Storm That Changed Everything
Love is a liability. And I don’t do liabilities.
That’s what I always believed until her.
The storm had swallowed the city in its ruthless grip. The streets were empty, drenched in rain and flickering neon lights. My world was built on power, control, and violence, and people like me didn’t stop for strangers.
Yet, there she was.
Drenched. Defiant. Standing in the middle of the street, as if daring the storm to take her.
At first, I thought she was another lost soul a fool who wandered too close to the fire. But then I saw the man behind her.
He wasn’t just some drunk or a petty thief. No, I knew him.
And I knew what he was capable of.
A low curse left my lips as I stepped forward. I should have walked away. Should have let fate decide her end.
But I didn’t.
Because in that moment, I realized something chilling she wasn’t afraid. And that made her dangerous.
