Nyx pov
Wow, it's the second week of summer and I already feel like shit. I've been sitting in my room all the time, except for meals. That summer time depression be hitting hard. Today, I've decided to sit in my treehouse for the day. The beans in my bean bag rustle underneath the weight of my body. I slowly sink in to the soft cover, burying my face into the fluffy fabric. I'm just glad that mom didn't make me hang out with her best friend's son. She says we are the perfect couple, but we're barely friends, but not aquentinces. I located my blakent beside me and draped it over my body. I was almost asleep for the first time in a while, thinking about how my year of being sixteen has been going down hill ever since my birthday, when I heard steps clomping up my ladder. Groaning, I sat up and saw Charles face peeking through the hatch. "What do you want", I said angrily because he interrupted my nap. "I came to annoy you", Charles snapped back. I groaned, wanting to kick him out of the treehouse, but I knew mom wouldn't approve. So I let him stay. I buried my face back into the bean bag, Charles' sneakers growing louder as he glided towards me. He chose the bean bag right next to mine. "So, you look tired", Charles tone now softer. I sat back up and looked at him, my eyelids nearly closed. Charles sighed and pulled me close, wrapping his arms around me. I would have protested, but I was to exhausted.
