Hi, you found my book!

Before you start: here’s a chapter that’s really just an excuse to show off the collages i made for the main characters (because apparently i’m a visual learner now, and also because this book is full of chaos and it helps to put faces to names).

If you’re like me, you probably scroll through the first chapters looking for the “who’s who” because you want to know who you’re supposed to fall for, side-eye, or root for to get their life together. So, here’s a quick intro to the people you’ll be spending way too much time with over the next few hundred pages.

Also don’t worry, i’m not about to give you their entire life story, just the essentials. Think of it as a team lineup.

So take a look at the collages, make your judgements, and get ready for the drama.

Sofia Calloway : she’s the one at the center of all this. Trust issues, big heart, terrible at pretending she’s not affected by things. This whole story pretty much starts and ends with her.

Luka Mikhaylov : captain of the hockey team. Russian. Doesn’t do small talk, barely does regular talk. Has a reputation for being cold, but somehow everyone pays attention when he walks into a room. Complicated past, complicated present, doesn’t make things easy for sofia or anyone else.

Julian : sofia’s best friend and the reason she ever leaves her apartment. Has an opinion about everything, the kind of person who documents everyone else’s drama but acts like he’s above it. Always there when you need him, even when you don’t ask.

Jaxon Carter: you’ll know when he’s in the room because he’s loud, funny, and always pushing someone’s buttons. Plays hockey, loves a party, makes questionable choices but usually gets away with it. The definition of chaotic good.

Beckett Monroe : he’s the tall, intimidating one who barely speaks, but everyone listens when he does. Enforcer on the team, looks like he could kill you, actually just wants people to clean up after themselves and respect leg day.

Cameron Rossi: goalie, heart of gold, makes everyone feel at home even when they’re not. Big on comfort food, gives good advice, not as clueless as he seems. If you’re having a bad day, he’s probably already noticed.

Nikolai Petrov : defenseman, close with luka, will out-sarcasm anyone in the room. Doesn’t waste words, not big on sharing feelings, but he sees everything. If you catch him making a joke, you’re probably in his good books.

That’s everyone you need to know (for now). If you end up loving them, i’m happy. If you end up wanting to shake them, trust me, same. Anyway, enjoy the story, enjoy the drama, and maybe let me know which collage you think actually matches their energy.
