< Prologue >

Searching for colleges after high school is not easy. It starts off with intense interviews and harsh scrutinizing gazes against me. I'm glad my family has good social standing or else id have ended up with no college at all. My first day went unnoticed. Slowly ringing the door after exiting the public bus service, the door creaks open leading me inside.

“Mom, I'm home!” i shout out loud whilst removing my leather shoes,

Ever since we moved into the villa it's been harder to communicate with my parents, who often only talk about me being a useless person, or me being not so considerate about my family. My eyes open wide with shock and horror at the sight of my parents being held at gunpoint. My hands fall off my shoe, which I still haven't taken off due to the tightness of it, and dart towards my parents who are on the ground with their mouths covered up in a damp dirty cloth, their eyes won't open.

“Mom! Wake up mom!” I shout and cry for only a small amount of proof that she is alive. “Dad, wake up!” I scream in horror.

Crying my eyes out in front of them almost forgetting the presence of the men in front of me,

“Do as I say and we can all live comfortably,” a voice from behind me says, peering in from the door frame.

“Hyun! What are you doing? Help me! my mom and dad are on the floor with these people are surrounding us!” I shout back at him, noticing his voice at the door.

Ah so this is how I die, being killed by a bunch of worthless goons. “Marry me and I won't harm any of them and I'll even be considerate and let you visit them. How about that?” He states coldly.

His eyes are blue but they look hollow inside as if he isn’t really living anymore. I know better than to defy the orders of someone with a gun so I nod in response before going unconscious. I can’t believe my childhood friend would betray me like this.

I wake up dazed, on the floor in my wedding dress, and realize that the blurry vision was not a dream. My eyes peer towards the creaking sound coming from the doorway where he stands, this time I get a good look at him. He has straight blonde hair neatly styled for the occasion His irises cannot capture the light, giving him a terrifying and frightening appearance.

"You can never love me," he warns as I struggle to hold back my tears, which suddenly trickle down my flushed cheeks. "I'll kill you if you do."

My vision becomes blurry; this isn’t the way I thought my wedding would be. While holding up on my swollen ankles, from the white glimmering heels I'm wearing, and keeping my head up high for fake confidence. I hesitate after viewing the large crowd, which includes my family, foolishly sending me away to a husband who wishes to harm me. My shining white heels approach the devil in front of the aisle—the man who deceived, wounded, and betrayed me when I needed him the most.

The wedding was fast, quick and easy compared to what I had thought. The vows were done in front of everyone, and I could feel my blood still boiling after that kiss we had. Touching my tender lips in rage as we left the venue after the guests had gone. The black car is ready in front of me to take me to my new home, or better yet my new prison.
