Prologue
Ten years before…
Koren stood in silence and pure frozen fear as she watched the house she grew up in burn to the ground, she had heard the haunting screams of Lady Saint. She finally realized her family was inside and started running to the house, crying and sobbing. Black feathers blocked her way and held her small, trembling body back from running to the burning building.
Koren looked up to a black veil covering a man’s face. Koren sniffled and hugged him tightly. Koren had recognized the villain, Zephyrus; they called him the God of the Winds. Zephyrus had seemed surprised with the hug but he picked her up and held her.
“It’s okay, my darling flame…it’s okay…” Zephyrus whispered in her ear. She fell asleep against him but this was her family now.
