Chapter 1
The Brown family, an exuberant bunch from Auckland, New Zealand, embarks on their long-awaited trip to Paris. At the airport, they lose their luggage, and Grandfather’s younger son misplaces his 13-year-old daughter. Grandfather, ever the poet, eases tensions with his words:
“Safar hai naya, lekin uljhan purani, Ye family ka jadoo, har baat hai deewani.”
(“A new journey, yet old confusions, This family’s magic, every moment an illusion.”)
