Chapter One - Science Class

It was the fourth period, which meant science class in Room 189, the place filled with all the coolest things you could ever imagine. As I grabbed four big, fat science books, my roommate, Lucy, suddenly appeared behind me. With her mischievous grin, she greeted me just in time for Mr. Anderson’s class. The room hummed excitedly as our teacher set up an experiment at the front. Today’s topic was the wonders of the universe – black holes, galaxies, and maybe even extraterrestrial life. Lucy couldn’t resist cracking jokes throughout the lesson, making the class more entertaining. As the bell rang, Mr. Anderson gave us an exciting homework assignment: to create a machine that lets us go back in time, but there was a twist, whichever two partners could finish building their time machine the fastest would get this year’s space award of fastest time machine built. Lucy’s eyes lit up, she always loved races, and she was sure she would win this one.
