Author's POV :

Nandini an innocent eighteen-year-old girl, was still in school, but her world was being torn apart.

Her father, a desperate man weighed down by debt, stood trembling before Viraj Thakur, begging for mercy.

"Thakur saheb, I will clear the debt next month. Please, spare me," he pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation.

Viraj sat on the chair, his eyes cold and expressionless. As the eldest son of the Thakur family, his word was law in the village.

"Spare you? No way. What did you say? You'll return the money next month? How? You have nothing left. Your land, your house—everything is in our hands. Beat him," Viraj ordered his men. They immediately began beating the man, bruising his already frail body.

Though it was the year 1995, the Thakur family still ruled the village as if time hadn't moved forward. Their wealth and power dictated the lives of everyone around.

"Thakur saheb, I have something valuable to offer. See it, and decide whether to kill me or not," Nandini's father pleaded, his voice trembling with fear.

"What could you possibly offer?" Viraj said, gesturing for his men to stop. "Let him go. I want to see what this 'precious' thing is that he’s talking about."

The man got up from the ground, whimpering in pain, and stumbled back to his home. He returned moments later, dragging a young girl by the arm and throwing her at Viraj’s feet.

"Thakur saheb, this is my daughter. Take her in exchange for clearing my debt. She can cook, clean... she’ll do any work. If you want, she can even be your whore. Do whatever you wish—just spare me," he said, his voice desperate as he pleaded for his life.

"Papa! What are you saying?" Nandini sobbed. "I’m your daughter! How can you sell me like this? Please, Papa, I don’t want to go. Please!" Her face was flushed red from crying, her tears streaming uncontrollably.

Viraj lifted her chin, mesmerized by her beauty despite the hurt and fear in her eyes.

Without saying a word, Viraj stood up from his chair, grabbed her, hand heading toward his car.

"Hame chodiye... please... Papaaa!" Nandini screamed, hitting his hand with her small fists, trying desperately to free herself.

"Chup! karo," Viraj threatened, his voice cold. Priya covered her mouth with her hands, stifling her sobs.

He threw her into the car and slammed the door shut. Then, turning to her father, he said, " Your debt is cleared."

Her father, overjoyed, smiled and asked, "So, it’s settled then?"

Viraj nodded, signaling his men. As Viraj drove away, his men carried out his final command.

They shaved his head making him bald . Thrown him out of the village
