Summary

Red, White, and Grey follows the harrowing life of Buck Reinhardt, a young American of German-Russian descent, from his boyhood in Texas to the war-torn landscapes of Russia. In 1918, Buck is sent to Vladivostok as part of a U.S. effort to support the White Russian forces during the brutal civil war against the Bolsheviks. What begins as a mission of duty turns into a decades-long odyssey of survival, sacrifice, and transformation. Spanning the years 1905 to 1953, Buck witnesses the death of comrades, the loss of his beloved wife, and the unrelenting hardships of foreign battlefields and political upheaval. Amid death and societal turmoil, Buck’s resilience is tested as he fights to return home. Blending historical events with intimate personal struggle, Red, White, and Grey is a sweeping, emotionally charged epic about identity, endurance, and the long road back to peace in a small Texas town.
