An Unlikely Romance
This work is a piece of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.
I’ve decided to write on Inkit, and most of the novels I enjoy are hockey romances. It’s a popular genre because, honestly, who wouldn’t love it?
A week after I saw a competition announcing that hockey romances are welcome in any genre, as long as they involve hockey, I was inspired to write more. The deadline for submissions is in June, which gave me the push I needed to keep going.
My story, An Unlikely Romance, is a slow burn. It’s about two people who are forced to work together. They don’t have much of a choice—they can either stick it out or face failing grades and being kicked off the hockey team. They need each other for one last season that could determine whether their school’s hockey team wins or loses. After that, everything could go back to normal, but the real question is: will everything ever truly be the same again?
