Chapter 1_The Power That Dominates

Hello 👋🏻 Lovely readers...........

This is my first story on stack, I had absolutely no idea how to write it, so your favourite author Hidden writer has helped me a lot in writing the story on stack, so all the credit for this story goes to her too 🥳

The air smelled of dust and earth as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon. The villagers hurried to pack their stalls and carts, eager to return home before the village gates shut for the night. Among them was Manya Rajasekhar, a delicate yet resilient girl, her tired eyes scanning the scattered vegetables still left on her wooden cart. Her stepmother's harsh words echoed in her mind — "Jab tak sab kuchh bik na jaye, ghar mat aana!"

Manya adjusted her worn-out dupatta over her shoulder, her fingers stiff from the cold air. Life hadn’t been easy since her father’s death. Her stepmother’s cruelty forced her to endure endless chores, and selling vegetables was just another burden on her fragile shoulders.

Meanwhile, at a distance, a luxurious black SUV cruised down the narrow village road. The vehicle stood out like a shadow among the simple carts and huts. Inside, Reyansh Thakur, the powerful village sarpanch, reclined on the back seat, his sharp eyes scanning the streets through the tinted window. His presence alone demanded respect — a man feared yet deeply admired. His crisp white shirt folded neatly at the elbows, revealing strong forearms, while a heavy silver watch gleamed against his wrist.

His gaze flickered towards the crowded mandi, where a girl — petite yet striking — struggled to manage her cart. Manya’s face, half-hidden by her loose hair, caught his attention. For a man who had never wasted a second glancing at women, Reyansh found himself oddly intrigued.

“Stop the car,” he ordered in his firm, commanding voice.

His driver hesitated for a second but obeyed. Reyansh’s sharp gaze didn’t leave Manya. She was different — not just by her looks but by the quiet strength in her tired eyes. Something about her vulnerability felt... unsettling yet magnetic.

Over the next few days, Reyansh’s car would repeatedly pass by the market. He never approached her but found himself watching from a distance — observing her silently. Each day, his men discreetly bought her entire stock of vegetables, ensuring her struggle was eased. Manya never knew who her mysterious benefactor was, but she silently thanked whoever saved her from her cruel stepmother’s wrath each evening.

---

One evening, as the chilly wind swept across the village, the market began to shut early. The village gates were closing sooner than expected. Manya’s heart pounded when she realized she was still outside the walls. She grabbed her empty cart, her footsteps quickening as she sprinted towards the closing gate.

But before she could cross it, the heavy iron gates slammed shut.

“No! Please open the gate!” Manya banged her fists desperately against the cold metal, her breath clouding the air.

“Darwaza subah khulega,” the guard called out.

Her stomach twisted in panic. Her stepmother would never believe her. She knew the punishment waiting for her at home — anger, humiliation... maybe worse.

“Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?”

A deep, authoritative voice broke through the silence.

Turning around, Manya’s eyes widened as she faced the towering figure of Reyansh Thakur. Dressed in black, with his sleeves still folded and sharp features carved like stone, he seemed even more intimidating in the dim evening light.

“I... I’m stuck outside,” Manya stammered.

“Hmm,” Reyansh muttered, clearly aware of her situation yet pretending not to care. “Looks like you have no choice tonight.” His lips curled slightly, almost as if amused by her panic.

“I... I can’t stay here,” she protested, her voice trembling.

“Tumhari problem hai,” he said coldly, then paused. After a brief silence, he added, “Mera ghar yahan se thoda door hai... aana hai toh chalo.”

Manya hesitated. The thought of being alone with the most powerful man in the village terrified her, but what choice did she have? Reluctantly, she followed him.

---

Reyansh’s private house stood isolated outside the village — modern, luxurious, and intimidatingly quiet. As they entered, Manya stood awkwardly near the door, hugging herself for warmth.

“Kapde gande ho gaye hain... badal lo.” Reyansh’s voice broke the silence as he tossed a set of fresh clothes onto the table. “Wahan room mein jaake change kar lo.”

Manya swallowed hard but nodded. The room smelled faintly of cologne and smoke. She quickly changed into the warm sweater and sweatpants, feeling oddly comfortable.

What she didn’t know was that Reyansh’s sharp eyes hadn’t left her. Hidden within the room’s shadows, a small CCTV screen glowed faintly. He watched her — not with lust, but with something darker, something possessive. His gaze lingered as she nervously adjusted her hair in the mirror.

“So innocent…” he muttered under his breath, a faint smirk playing at the corner of his lips.

Later that evening, Manya busied herself in the kitchen, preparing a simple meal. Her fingers moved swiftly as she diced vegetables, unaware that Reyansh was watching her from the doorway. His arms were crossed, and his gaze was fixated on her every move.

“She doesn’t belong in that filthy market,” he thought. “She’s too... fragile.”

His chest tightened at the thought of her struggling in that harsh world. The idea that anyone might harm her stirred something primal inside him — something protective yet dangerously obsessive.

When Manya finally placed the dinner on the table, Reyansh took a seat across from her.

“Yeh sab zaroori nahin tha,” he muttered, breaking the silence.

“I... I wanted to thank you,” she said softly.

Reyansh’s gaze hardened. “Don’t misunderstand. Maine yeh sab bas waise hi kiya.”

But even as he said it, his eyes betrayed something deeper — something possessive.

Manya lowered her gaze, suddenly feeling like she was caught in a storm far bigger than she could handle.

That night, as Manya lay curled up in the guest room, Reyansh stood outside her door, his jaw clenched. He had saved her once... but now, something told him he couldn’t let her go so easily.

"You’re mine to protect... mine to control... mine to ruin if I want."

For the first time in years, Reyansh Thakur knew exactly what he wanted — and this time, he wouldn’t back down.
