1. Secrets

"You lied," I laughed in disbelief

"Step one foot out of this room and you'll see a side of me you didn't know existed."

He grabbed my arm and pulled me close.

His eyes held so much anger, but so much desperation at the same time.

Tears were streaming down my cheeks which frustrated me even more. I didn't want to seem like the weak housewife anymore. "I gave up everything for our family, I sacrificed my dreams, my body, my career, and for who? For a criminal."

My morals just couldn't allow me.

"Baby please." Tears started streaming down his face too, and for the first time in 10 years, I see this man crying.

"Let me explain..." He looks down at me with broken eyes.

"He was right... I can't believe it... Not just him, everyone was right... My family, my friends, your ex-fiance..." I scoffed at myself. "Just how blind was I."

His jaw clenched at my words, his fists locking my wrists together causing immense jolts of pain to travel up my body. "You're hurting me." I sternly said.

He directly let go of me and backed a little bit away. "What else were u lying about?"

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to know, but I can't continue living in a lie.

"Can we sit first..?" He said in a broken voice.

"Sure."

---

"I have a child." He murmured a little too low.

"Could you repeat what you said?" I heard him the first time, I was just too astonished to react.

"I- I have a son. He's 5 years old." He watched me closely, fearing my reaction.

"How could you... Hide something like that from me?"

I was numb.

"You have to listen to me first... Please... He... I thought.... His mom... I-"

"Form a sentence you ******"

The amount of hatred I felt for this man was immeasurable.

"Who's his mom?" I inquired rightfully.

"Laura."

My best friend?

"I'm suing you." I said finally. "For a lot."

He shook his head, "I thought it was you. That night which led to my son, I thought it was you I was sleeping with. She had me under a drug. I swear, I swear on my life. I didn't want to tell you because I was too afraid you'd leave me. You think I didn't feel guilt weighing my heart every day? You think I didn't try to find a suitable time to break the news to you?"

"Five damn years and you didn't find one suitable moment? Sure it's not your fault if that's the case, but you hiding it from me isn't okay either..."

"I'll make it up to you, a way or another I swear!"

Why, why me? Why did it have to be me whose husband is a mafia boss?

I wanted to get back at him, to show him how ugly the feeling of betrayal is...

That's when I remembered... My sister..

"I know." She said steering the coffee with her straw.

"What do you mean you know? You knew about him being a criminal and didn't tell me?"

I had decided to go tell my sister who worked with the FBI about everything.

It was a very hard decision, but I can't be the reason another soul loses its life.

"We've been tailing him for years, for fucking years, but not even once has he left evidence to anything... There is literally no way of catching him. Thus, I can't just tell you unsupported claims, you wouldn't have believed me..." She took a long long sip from her drink.

"I think I can help y-" The lump in my throat didn't allow me to continue my sentence. "I think-" Tears exploded from my eyes before I could stop them. "I can help you catch him... My husband..." I look away.

Her jaw flew open. "Babe..." She held my hand. "You don't have to... I know you love this man a lot... I was the one who you talked to for hours about him... I was the one who watched you beam at just the mention of his name... I know you love him a lot, there is no need."

Her words held nothing but the truth. I have loved Alessio ever since I was 14, but this Alessio is not the Alessio I loved. He's a wanted flagged criminal.

"He's more powerful than us." She said after hesitating. "I know it's unbelievable, but... He really is. Because of him we've lost teams and groups more than we could keep track of. He's very very dangerous. Just because you're his wife doesn't mean he won't hurt you."

I smiled at her.

She was such a sweetheart, my only real friend.

"What kind of information are you guys looking for?"

I know he's dangerous, but as soon as he's caught, I'll fly abroad and change my identity.

"Ok listen carefully."

I step out of my car and stare at the mansion I've always called home.

Now I know every inch of this villa was paid at the expense of someone's life.

I'm not an angel, but I'm most certainly not a devil.

I walked towards the entrance and pulled out my keys.

I found it odd that no guards were at the gates, but dismissed it.

As soon as I opened the wooden doors, I hear someone scream and a gunshot.

What the hell happened?

I rush inside and throw my coat and keys on the floor without giving them a thought.

"What's going on here?"

I walked down a hallway and into the room I was sure I heard the gun shot come out of.

There at the floor, I saw someone bleeding, laying dead.

Upon closer look, I realized it was none other than

My sister.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
