Main Characters

Kameron “Kam” Bullock (20) is a standout wide receiver at GA Tech with his sights set on the NFL. Fast, focused, and relentless, he knows talent alone won’t secure his future. He has to outwork, outsmart, and outplay everyone else. Coming from a tough background, Kam isn’t just chasing a dream; he’s fighting for a way out, for a life bigger than the one he grew up in. Football is his ticket, and failure isn’t an option.
But more than anything, Kam is doing this for Raelynn, his young daughter. She’s his world, his reason for pushing harder, for making sacrifices, for refusing to settle for anything less than success. Every game, every practice, every decision he makes is about securing a future where she never has to struggle the way he did.
Off the field, Kam keeps his circle small and his guard up. He’s not the type to let people in easily. His mother and Raelynn are his biggest motivations, and the only thing stronger than his ambition is his loyalty to the few who matter. With a sharp mind and a quick tongue, Kam knows how to play the game both on and off the field. But no matter how much control he thinks he has, some things can’t be strategized or avoided. And when it comes to love, rivalry, and the messy in-between, Kam learns that not every play goes according to plan.

Makayla Miller (18) is a journalism major at GA Tech with a passion for storytelling, especially when it comes to sports. Quirky, thoughtful, and often lost in her own world, she struggles to connect with most people but finds comfort in the things she loves: anime, animals, and writing. Social situations can be overwhelming, but when she’s behind a keyboard or deep in a football analysis, everything makes sense.
Raised in a driven household, Makayla grew up with a high-profile sports agent for a father and a successful dermatologist for a mother. Despite being surrounded by ambition, she often feels like the odd one out, caught between her older sister, Aaliyah (20), who always seemed to have it all figured out, and her younger brother, Jeremiah (14), who effortlessly charms his way through life.
Between navigating college, friendships, and the complicated feelings stirred up by both her past and present relationships, Makayla learns that love, like football, isn’t a game you can control.

Aiden Sullivan (18) is a wide receiver with a sharp mind for the game and an even sharper instinct for competition. After spending a semester out of state chasing a football dream that didn’t pan out, he’s back in Atlanta, hoping to prove he still has what it takes. With a deep love for the game and a stubborn streak that won’t let him quit, Aiden is determined to make his mark on the field and in life.
Off the turf, Aiden has a side most people don’t see. A secret history buff, he spends late nights watching WWII documentaries and diving into the past, fascinated by the strategy, resilience, and untold stories behind major historical events. He doesn’t talk about it much, just like he doesn’t talk about the feelings he refuses to acknowledge. Focused on football and avoiding anything too complicated, Aiden tells himself he’s keeping his life simple. But as old connections resurface and new challenges arise, he’s starting to realize that some things, especially history, have a way of repeating themselves.
