Chapter 1
In the pitch-black darkness, nothing could be seen clearly. The small space was filled with the low panting of men, the tender moans of a woman, and the chaotic mix of sweat and bodily fluids...
“Oh~ Who are you exactly? Oh My...”
Sophie, who was jolted by the massive thrusting beneath her, bit her lip and asked the question again.
“It won’t be long before you can return to our side...”
It was a deep and low male voice, repressed with desire and chillingly cold. Sophie Smith didn’t understand what he meant and wanted to ask again, but her butt was forcefully lifted by the strong arms of the man, and her dripping wet entrance was mercilessly penetrated by the throbbing member.
Until streams of hot liquid were ejaculated deep inside her womb, the powerful grip that bound her slowly disappeared. Exhausted and on the verge of losing consciousness, she mustered the last ounce of strength to try and grasp the blurred figure at the edge of the bed...
“Oh!”
Startled awake from the dream, Sophie sat up in bed, breathing heavily with lingering fear. She glanced at the bright crystal chandelier on the ceiling and knew that she had been haunted by nightmares once again.
She reached for her phone from the bedside table and turned it on, only to find that it was the same as the previous few nights – not too early nor too late, still 12:00pm in the midnight.
The consistent time of awakening sent a chill down her spine. She instinctively looked at the sleepwear she was wearing, which remained unchanged, except for her trembling fair legs exposed, and there was an indescribable sensation of throbbing in her intimate area. Her waist was also sore and uncomfortable.
“Oh, this dream is just too much...”
Sophie wiped the cold sweat off her forehead, then got out of bed and prepared to get a drink of water. For the past few nights, she had been trapped in the same dream, a dream full of shame. After waking up, she could hardly distinguish between reality and illusion. Her head felt dizzy, and she nearly stumbled several times while walking.
This directly resulted in her inability to concentrate during work in the daytime. With panda eyes, she made mistakes on the report for the third time and received a harsh scolding from her leader.
“Hey, Sophie, what’s been going on with you these past few days? Look at you, you seem to be indulging in sex. Come clean, do you have a man in your life?” Chloe Perez, her best friend, said in a lowered voice, grabbing her and questioning her.
“You’re thinking too much. I just haven’t been sleeping well.” Sophie replied dispiritedly.
But as soon as she said it, she couldn’t help but remember the dreams she had these nights, and her face immediately turned red. However, she quickly regained her composure.
Chloe was quite perceptive. Having known Sophie for ten years, she could tell what she was thinking with just a single glance.
“Sophie, if you dare to secretly have a man without showing him to me, I’ll expose your ugly childhood photos!”
The mention of the childhood photos, which was a painful topic for Sophie, made her quickly grab onto Chloe and reluctantly say, “I really haven’t lied to you. Don’t make wild assumptions. Let’s go eat together after work.”
Unfortunately, before the end of the workday, Chloe disappeared without a trace. Being as beautiful as she was, she was always fervently pursued by admirers.
So, Sophie went downstairs alone. The company was located in the bustling city center, filled with towering commercial office buildings. It took her about ten minutes to navigate through the streets and alleys to reach her favorite stir-fry restaurant.
It was the peak time for lunch break, and the small restaurant was packed with people. Sophie had to find a random spot to sit. She had just ordered her favorite mushroom and chicken rice when an elderly lady sitting next to her called out to her.
“Young lady, your bracelet is really beautiful.” The well-dressed octogenarian lady smiled kindly, squinting her eyes, and pointed at the jade bracelet on Sophie’s wrist.
Sophie was taken aback. It was summer, and she was wearing a short-sleeved dress. The white jade bracelet on her wrist moved back and forth, exuding a faintly cool sensation. She found it about ten days ago in her old house back home. At that time, she was enamored by its transparent and glossy appearance, so she decided to wear it.
However, once she put it on, she couldn’t take it off no matter what she tried.
In a panic, she immediately called her mother, who was overseas, to inquire about the bracelet’s origin. Perhaps because it was too old, her mother didn’t provide much information, just saying that it was a good thing and to keep wearing it for protection.
Unfortunately, the bracelet was quite heavy, and it took her several days to get used to it. The first time she wore it to the office, the avid collector manager stopped her. His eyes lit up when he saw the bracelet, and he offered a sky-high price to buy it. However, he couldn’t take it off Sophie’s hand and had to give up.
“Thank you, Grandma.”
“Would you mind if I have a look, young lady?”
The old lady’s tone was casual, without much enthusiasm. Despite the overwhelming kindness emanating from her, Sophie didn’t pay much attention. She reached out her hand and watched as the old lady picked up the high-quality jade bracelet with a water-like color, gently stroking it with her wrinkled hand.
Suddenly, a flashing crimson light swiftly passed through the transparent bracelet!
“Ouch!” Before Sophie could discern the fleeting red light, the previously cool bracelet suddenly heated up, causing her to scream in pain as she tried to take it off. But when she touched it again, the bracelet returned to its previous cool temperature.
What just happened...
“Young lady, have you experienced anything strange since you started wearing this bracelet yourself?”
When Sophie snapped back to reality, she realized that the elderly lady had already withdrawn her hand, sitting upright and smiling at her, softly asking the question. Sophie flipped through the bracelet with lingering fear.
“Strange occurrences? Well... actually, yes!”
Considering the dates, it seemed that those strange dreams began the same night she started wearing the jade bracelet. Previously, her dreams were always pure!
The old lady looked at the girl, whose face suddenly turned red. She smiled knowingly, her gaze lingering on the jade bracelet for a while. Just as Sophie hesitated to speak, the old lady said, “It’s fortune, not calamity. Calamity cannot be escaped. Calculate the time. From the 50th day after you started wearing it, if nothing happens, come find me in the Lulu Street.”
After saying that, the old lady got up and left. Sophie, feeling puzzled, couldn’t care about eating anymore. She paid the bill and rushed out, but no matter how she searched, she couldn’t find a trace of the old lady.
“It’s fortune, not calamity. Calamity cannot be escaped...”
Sophie felt a chill down her spine.
“Hey, why are you running so fast? I haven’t given you your change!” The server from the restaurant chased after her and handed Sophie her change, but noticed that she didn’t look well.
“Hey, did you just talk to Aunt Linda?” the server asked.
“Aunt Linda?” Sophie’s eyes immediately lit up as she hurriedly asked, “Do you know where she lives?”
The server nodded. As a special regular customer, she naturally knew, “Oh, she lives at 59 the Lulu Street. But, be careful, don’t believe everything she says. She has some issues, you know?”
Unfortunately, before Sophie could thank her, she quickly left without even noticing the hand gesture pointing to the head.
