I am the Villain

Choi Jiyeon couldn't come down from cloud nine when her boyfriend of two years proposed her on a romantic date beside beach. Her boyfriend, Lee Seung Ho, a name she could say for a thousand times without ever growing tired of it's charm. He was everything she could ask for. A sweet and caring gentleman who knows how to make his girl feel loved. Her mornings and evenings were filled with that name.

Jiyeon was a gorgeous girl anyone could easily fall for. Her cheerful and joyous nature was one of the attractive things about her personality. Seung Ho cherished her deeply. They make a beautiful and elegant couple.

It was the best day for her when the love of her life asked her to tie the knot of their relationship. Seung Ho took Jiyeon's hand and looked into her eyes, his voice trembling with emotions.

"Jiyeon, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"

Jiyeon's heart soared, tears of joy glistening in her eyes as she exclaimed,

"Yes, Seung Ho, yes, a thousand times yes!"

Their laughter mingled with the sound of the waves, sealing their love under the canvas of the evening sky.

All the preparations were being done as the wedding was approaching and finally, the long awaited day arrived. The day when all her dreams are going to be true. She will be with the man she has loved so dearly. He will be beside her in her mornings and her nights, brightening them with his sweet company. It was the beautiful future she had always dreamt of, which was now turning into reality.

She welcomed the pleasant morning with her beautiful smile. Today's morning seemed particularly beautiful, or perhaps there was something special about this day that was making everything delightful and charming.

The first thing she did as soon as she woke up in the morning was to visit her first love. Yes, it was her dear father, who had always been her support and her strength. The most important and foremost for her.

Jiyeon entered the hospital and gently opened the door to her father's room. It was quiet, only the rhythmic beeping of machines could be heard that was disturbing the silence. A frail man lies in bed, his eyes shined as Jiyeon entered, "Appa, it's me."

Mr. Choi tried to speak but only manages to produce garbled sounds.

"Don't worry, Appa. I understand."

Tears welled up in her eyes but she hide them with a gentle smile. Her heart thumped in her chest as she struggled to speak. If she had the power, she wouldn't waste even a second in alleviating all his pains.

She sat beside his bed, holding his hand gently. He attempts to communicate, his voice filled with anticipation as if he's trying to confirm his thoughts.

"Yes Appa! It is today. Today your princess is getting married."

She confirmed, her voice filled up as tears appeared in her eyes, whereas her father's eyes widen in excitement but soon a look of concern swept across his face. Fathers are so protective of their daughters. He expressed his thoughts through his limited speech, a hint of concern in his eyes.

"Come on! You are worrying too much. You liked him when you met him, remember?" Jiyeon questioned him trying to calm his nerves. She squeezes his hands reassuringly, a warm smile on her face. "Don't worry Appa, Seung Ho is a nice guy. He will take care of me, just like you always have."

Mr. Choi's heart was comforted, hearing her words and he managed to bring a half-smile to his face despite his paralyzed muscles. His eyes glistened with pride and love as he gazed at his daughter, his heart filled with father's protective warmth.

The room was dimly lit, creating an eerie atmosphere as few muscular men entered with guilt etched on their faces. The air grew heavy with tension as their footsteps echoed against the cold, concrete floor. They came and stood at a distance from a figure in the dark, their head lowered in respect and fear, knowing the consequences of crossing him.

The figure, that seemed to be their leader, was cloaked in darkness. His aura intimidating. His presence exhibiting authority, ruthlessness and dominance.

He observed their entrance silently and detected the guilt written on their faces as be banged his fist on the table, sending a shiver through every soul present in the room.

"How could you let this happen?" the leader's voice boomed, resonating with disappointment. His eyes blazed with rage, jaw clenched in fury. "You had one job. One job! And you failed it." He seethed, the words dripping with venom.

The men shifted uncomfortably, their eyes avoiding his dangerous gaze. One among them stepped forward, his voice trembling as he spoke, "We don't know sir. We were guarding her room but she managed to slip aw--- "

His sentence was cut short by a loud noise of gun firing and a streak of blood erupted from the middle of his forehead. Excuses and incapability are never going to be a thing in his gang. The room fell into silence again as the only sound was of dead body falling with a thud could be heard. The leader put the gun back on the table gently and slowly. Guards standing beside the door came forward, dragging the lifeless body away from the scene.

With the fate of one, tension increases. Harsh breath of other men filled the room and sound of their leader's footsteps pacing back and forth.

He closes his eyes tightly recalling the moment when the ground seemed to vanish beneath him. He remembered he entered her room in anticipation but only met with emptiness. A sharp pang of hurt tightened his chest as the memories from the day before flooded his mind. He had tracked her mobile which was discovered from outside of a shopping mall, indicating that she was abducted from there.

His eyes filled with rage, determined to avenge her and bring her back. "Find her!" he ordered, his voice commanding.

Whoever took her will pay dearly for their actions.

The sun shined through the curtains illuminating the room where Jiyeon stood in front of a full-length mirror. She wore a stunning white gown that hugged her figure. It's intricate lace and delicate beads gleamed in the soft light. Her dark curls cascaded down gracefully over her shoulders in beautiful waves. With bright smile spread across her lips, she gazed at her reflection, her eyes sparkling with excitement and anticipation.

In the mirror, she saw more than just her reflection. She saw promise of a beautiful future, filled with love and happiness. She could envision the life she would build with the love of her life. She could see all her dreams coming true.

With a final glance in the mirror, feeling grateful for the journey that had led her to this moment, her heart full of joy and excitement, the bride turned away from the mirror, ready to walk down the aisle. But the moment was shattered by loud gunshots, widening her eyes.

A wave of horror rushed through her body as she registered the dangerous situation outside. Concern for the safety of those outside crossed her mind, triggering panic. Her father was paralyzed so he was unable to attend. That is how her only family was absent. But then the groom came to her mind.

Lee Seung Ho!

Her heart sank. Without hesitation, she dashed to the door and flung it open.

"Not so fast, princess!"

A man, face covered by mask, pointed a gun against her forehead, gesturing her to move back in the room. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest. She didn't want to comply to this dangerous impolite stranger but his perilous demeanor forced her to remain quiet and do as being said.

Dressed in all black, he radiated madness. His eyes icy cold and expressionless, pierced her, sending chills through her body.

Jiyeon stepped back and he entered after her, closing the door behind his back while still holding gun against her. Deciphering his actions, his intentions were clear, causing her fear to intensify ten folds. She licked her dry lips.

Mustering up her courage, she managed to ask in her shocked state and broken voice.

"Wh- who are you?"

Though his face was hidden, his evil smirk was visible as it reached his eyes.

"Your worst Nightmare."

His voice more low and grave as he spoke the next venomous words,

"I am the Villain of your story!"
