From The King Came An Oath

Lightning and thunder clashed in the blackening sky

Announcing, deafening to the mortals, the Gods’ angry rage.

The sound of betrayal rumbled throughout the land.

Fire, shadows, lightning, and earth could be heard raging loudly through the rain;

Mortals gazed up at the night sky, wondering in fear what had angered the gods.

Up in the heavens, at the gates of Olympus, twelve gods were gathered.

Strapped in a golden chair, weaved in by a net, sat the god that towered above all the rest, both in power and rank

What’s the meaning of this? Release me at once! Thundered the king of the Gods.

We aren’t doing this out of spite, we wish for you to change your ways,

we wish for you to swear to be a better king,

A true and wise king, not like our father, Swear on the Lady’s Styx.

The god of all oceans and father of horses said with knowing emerald eyes.

I’m am nothing like Kronos, that sick bastard! The king of the gods rumbled in reply. Twelve different voices were heard, each trying to overpower the others,

Letting their opinions and thoughts for the imprisonment of their King known.

Then There was silence.

Dead silence.

A bellowing promise was heard from the King that laid bound in golden net...

It happened, Zeus finally became the true leader all the Gods - what they had waited for.

And as heaven’s rays struck their final peak at the ending day,

As the cardinals finished their final notes of the song of the departed.

The storm finally came to a close.

The god’s anger slowly faded away

As a new era began, The Era of the Gods.
