Chapter 1 - Love At First Sight
The classroom buzzed with the chatter of students as the professor wrapped up his lecture. Jimmy, a senior in college, sat at his desk, only half-listening to the professor’s words. His gaze kept drifting to the girl a few seats away, Anna. She was engrossed in her notes, completely unaware of the attention she was receiving. Jimmy’s heart pounded every time she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Remember, your final projects are due next week. No exceptions,” the professor reminded the class, his voice stern.
Jimmy’s friend nudged him, bringing him back to reality.
“Hey, Jimmy, are you even listening? You’ve been staring at Anna for the past ten minutes.”
Jimmy blinked and looked at his friend.
“What? Oh, yeah. Sorry, just thinking about the project.”
“Sure, you were, Jimmy. Sure, you were…”
The professor dismissed the class, and students began to gather their things. Jimmy watched as Anna packed her bag, her movements graceful and fluid. He knew he had to make his move now or he’d lose his nerve.
Outside the college building, Jimmy’s hands were clammy as he spotted Anna walking toward the campus exit. Summoning all his courage, he approached her.
“Hey, Anna,” he said, his voice slightly shaky.
“I was wondering if you’d like to grab a coffee sometime?”
Anna looked up, surprised but pleased. A warm smile spread across her face.
“Sure, Jimmy. I’d like that.”
Jimmy’s heart soared. They arranged to meet at a nearby coffee shop later that afternoon.
