Aisha met Ray on Weverse, in a comment section about their favorite band. Their conversations started with music but quickly grew into something deeper. He was charming, witty, and had a way with words that made her heart race. Every notification from him felt like a spark in her dull days.
She didn’t know when admiration turned into love, but it did- quietly, painfully.
But Ray never saw her the same way. He flirted, joked, and made her feel special, but his heart belonged to someone else. Aisha didn’t know until one evening when her best friend casually mentioned her new boyfriend.
It was Ray.
Her world cracked. The late-night chats, the sweet words, none of it meant what she thought they did. When she confronted him, he didn’t deny it. Instead, he laughed. “Did you actually think I liked you?” he scoffed. The words cut deep, but she stayed. She knew he was bipolar, that he had his moods, that sometimes he didn’t mean what he said. So, she forgave. Again and again.
But the insults didn’t stop. One night, he told her she was annoying, that she was just another girl in his inbox. That was the moment Aisha finally let go.
She didn’t cry. She didn’t type a final message. She just left his texts on read, deleted his contact, and walked awaynot because she didn’t love him anymore, but because she finally loved herself more.
