Chapter 1: Reese's New Job
It was quite an exciting time for Reese Guerra, she was finally independent from her strict parents – Micael and Vera Guerra. Though she wasn’t far away from them, she was excited for her new security job at Wes Vass’ Solar Industries. Wes was allowed to setup solar panels to help rural indigenous natives and regular Washington state citizens gain access to power so that they could have a better life. Wes had very good intentions on helping the local communities. When Reese arrived at the main compound she noticed something was off as she stepped out of her car.
“Greetings Ms. Reese Guerra, you must have traveled quite a distance for this new wonderful prospect” said Wes.
Wes was a dual Canadian-American, since he moved from North Dakota to Quebec but returned to do business in the United States. The Green Energy was a booming business in both countries.
“Why does a solar company need security personal?” asked Reese.
“I’m glad you ask, follow me” said Wes.
Wes gave Reese a tour of the compound, he even gave a tour of the “war room” in case if the solar company ran into trouble. Reese took a glance at the diagram of the entire layout of the Washington national park. The compound she was stationed at was smacked right in the middle. She noticed a strange cave in the distance on the diagram of the national park.
“Oh, that some crazy indigenous locals claim there’s a troll that lives there but we wouldn’t have to be bothered about that silly legend” laughed Wes.
Wes soon introduced Reese to her teammates who were likely to be on patrol with her most of the time – among them included Kenyan-American national Henry Musau. Much like Wes, he was a dual national but from Kenya. His family were known to be involved in providing security detail for various energy companies across the globe.
“Henry Musau at your service” said Henry as he gave Reese the military salute.
Henry’s main partner was Ruhi Neelam, a known veteran who hunted Naxalite insurgents a naturalized Indian turned American citizen.
“Ruhi Neelam at your service” said Ruhi as he gave the salute.
“There have been reports of some environmentalists now going after solar companies like mine can’t be too careful” laughed Wes.
After introducing to her teammates, the trio soon followed Wes to the assignment area. Their first task would be to secure the perimeter for a newly designated solar panels would be built. It felt easy – too easy, there had to be a catch. As Reese followed her teammates to a jeep, they soon headed off towards the location on the map. However, there was something sinister lurking in the national forest – a blue bulky troll gazed over a tall pine tree watching them. Grimnir was eager to know more about the humans. He couldn’t believe so many of them were intruding on his turf.
“Those are the humans with guns!” thought Grimnir in his head.
The warning by the local indigenous tribes were right to fear this mighty blue troll. But soon Grimnir gazed upon Reese Guerra riding in the back – he hadn’t come across a female human – maybe a hiker here and there but they always ran off the moment they saw him. Grimnir became obsessed with Reese as he continued to hover over the pine trees, he had to be extra careful if he wanted a closer look at the armed humans.
