Chapter 1 the first encounter
Taehyung was the most dangerous man in South Korea. A feared mafia boss whose name alone sent shivers down spines. Ruthless, merciless, and untouchable — until now. He had been arrested, and Night Yang was the one assigned to break him.
This was her first day on the case. The air inside the prison was thick with tension as she approached his cell.
He sat there, his broad frame leaned casually against the cold metal chair, eyes fixated on the bare wall as if lost in thought. His silence was unnerving, but Night wasn’t one to be easily intimidated.
“Turn around.”
Her voice echoed through the confined space, sharp and commanding.
Slowly, he obeyed. His dark, predatory eyes met hers — and for a brief moment, time stood still.
Night Yang.
Her beauty was otherworldly, enough to make even the most hardened criminals falter. A goddess-like face, with natural red lips that needed no enhancement, eyes that sparkled like purple marble, and skin so pale it seemed untouched by the world’s darkness. She looked delicate. Fragile. Innocent. But that was an illusion.
Taehyung’s gaze traveled from her face to her body, taking in her perfect curves with unspoken interest. His expression was unreadable, but the curiosity in his eyes betrayed him. He leaned back, his demeanor calm yet calculated, and spoke in a deep, gravelly voice that sent a chill down her spine.
“And who are you supposed to be?”
“DGP Night Yang.”
His brow lifted, a hint of intrigue flashing in his eyes. He leaned forward, his lips curling into a slight smirk.
“DGP Night Yang? That’s quite a name.” His tone was laced with amusement. “Mind sharing what those letters stand for, beautiful?”
Night sighed, her patience thinning. “Director General of Police.”
His smirk widened, his amusement growing. “A police director general, huh?” He leaned back again, arms crossed over his chest, tilting his head slightly as if sizing her up. “And what brings the director general of police to my little cell?”
Night’s jaw clenched. His arrogance was infuriating. But she didn’t let it show.
Without warning, she grabbed his collar, yanking him forward. Any trace of amusement vanished from his face. His gaze hardened, dark and unforgiving.
“Careful, darling,” he murmured, his voice dangerously low. “I wouldn’t get too close if I were you. I’m not as innocent as you think.”
Her grip tightened, eyes locked with his.
“Tell me everything I need to know…” Her voice dropped, her tone as lethal as her intentions. “Otherwise, I’m not as innocent as I look either.”
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The tension between them was suffocating, a dangerous game of power and control.
And in that moment, the war had begun.
