Chapter 1 The Photographer

On a chilly and misty evening, Simon made the spontaneous decision to wander through the city, eager to photograph the enchanting glow of the city lights. As he meandered along the poorly illuminated street, his attention was drawn to a quaint little house that exuded an unsettling atmosphere, shrouded in an air of mystery.

Fueled by an unquenchable thirst for discovery, he found himself unable to ignore the compelling desire to investigate the house. Without pausing to think, he set off on his adventure toward the captivating structure. As he approached, a chilling scene unfolded before him – the house lay abandoned, its door marked with an unusual emblem. A wave of unease washed over Simon, shifting his initial intrigue into a profound sense of dread.

The captivating mystery radiating from the house was simply too enticing to ignore, drawing him deeper into the realm of the unknown.

Upon entering, he was immediately met with a musty scent that enveloped him, while the dim lighting cast shadows across the room. At the center of this space stood an old desk, its surface cluttered with a forgotten camera, shrouded in a thick layer of dust. A wave of excitement surged through Simon as he gently lifted the camera from its resting place, his fingers tracing the intricate features with a sense of wonder.

Suddenly, a faint whisper caught his attention, causing him to whirl around and catch sight of a shadowy figure lurking just behind him. In an instant, before he could fully comprehend the situation, the figure vanished into thin air, leaving Simon in a state of confusion and intrigue. Without hesitation, he seized his camera and began to take photographs, determined to capture the haunting essence of the moment.

To his great surprise, the photographs he had taken turned out to be distorted and unclear, resembling the very figure he had aimed to capture.

Realizing that his perception might be playing tricks on him, Simon made the decision to leave the site and head back home. Upon arriving at his front door, he turned the knob and stepped inside.
