🐚 EPISODE 1 – “Salt in the Wound”

Scene 1 – Hotel Room, Day

The room is buzzing with excitement. Bags are tossed everywhere. Girls try on beach outfits, laughing.

MAYA

Daisy, you brought your swimsuit, right?

DAISY (faking a smile)

Yeah… I did.

She looks out the window. The ocean sparkles in the distance. Her smile fades.

MAYA

You okay?

DAISY

Mm-hm. Just tired.

Scene 2 – Hotel Lounge, Later

Everyone is hyped. The boys are here now too. The group is planning beach games and snacks.

BOY 1

Let’s hit the beach already! The waves are insane today!

GIRL 2

We’re so ready! Daisy, you in?

Daisy hesitates.

DAISY

I’m not feeling well. You guys go ahead.

MAYA (concerned)

You sure? You really hate the beach, huh?

DAISY (softly)

You know I don’t like it there...

She watches as the others leave, laughing and teasing each other.

Scene 3 – Other Side of the Beach, Quiet Spot

Daisy walks alone, feet just barely touching the edge of the seafoam. The beach here is quiet. Empty.

She looks around. No one.

She steps into the water.

DAISY (whispering)

Just for a little while...

She wades in deeper, the saltwater licking at her ankles, then thighs.

Her legs shimmer... and then vanish into a glistening mermaid tail.

She dives.

Scene 4 – Underwater

Daisy swims through the blue, hair flowing like silk behind her. She spins, free, finally breathing.

She swims far from shore. Coral, fish, silence.

Scene 5 – Back on Shore

Daisy climbs out at a hidden edge of the beach. Water drips from her tail. She dries quickly with a towel.

Slowly... her tail begins to glow... and split back into legs.

She sighs in relief.

But—

CAM (O.S.)

You went into the water?

She turns. Cam is standing there, confused.

CAM

I thought you were sick...

DAISY (startled, nervous)

Cam— I... I just needed a moment alone.

CAM

Why lie about it?

DAISY (desperate)

Please don’t tell anyone I was here. Please. I need... space, that’s all.

Scene 6 – Back at the Hotel, Night

Daisy dries her hair in the bathroom. Her reflection looks back at her — quiet, afraid.

In the other room, voices and laughter echo.

She shuts the door.

Cut to black.
