Genesis
A spaceship headed towards the planet chosen for habitation. There had been scans of many planets mapping out their ability to sustain life as well as the conditions under which the weather patterns and other circumstances could come into effect. In the end, one planet that was still uninhabited stood out as the best. For this plan to go off without a hitch there had to be no other superior life forms on it. Those in charge of the vessel had precious cargo that needed a new home, and there was little point in placing them on a planet where previous inhabitants would likely be possessive. As long as the planet had a water source, breathable air, good soil and met other important requirements, then it was suitable for what was needed.
Skipping across dimensions was a tricky business, but to create the desired world, the extra-terrestrials on the ship needed somewhere far from their own. This was the only way they could make a world according to their own vision and away from the prying eyes of their other fellows who might not share their ideals. Many other alien beings called their kind ‘Gods’ because of their immense ability to create and shape pieces of the universe according to their will. Such a status was one these in charge of this ship relished. Now they had the chance to create a world where they would be worshiped as Gods, and no one would question their power. They so planned it that their subjects would worship them and obey all commands.
Landing on the destined planet, everything was quiet except for the sound of the spaceship. The extra-terrestrials exited first and looked around. The planet consisted mostly of empty fields with water deposits and a sparse growth of plants, not fit for their creations to eat. Previous visits had proven this landing spot to be the best place to start. The soil was also perfect for helping create the beings that were to inhabit and take care of this planet along with all the plants and animals that would soon live there as well. The soil was taken back into the ship to confirm that everything was up to standard and the likelihood of any complications was quickly assessed as zero.
As this was going on, some of the other extra-terrestrials let down two ramps and allowed the animals they had made to exit first. All kinds of species of various sizes and character tumbled out and started exploring their new surroundings. Next, the plants were carried out of the ship and deposited into the soil to grow and provide sustenance for the new inhabitants of the planet. When the other extra-terrestrials came out, they announced that everything was just perfect. Then they took a moment to savor the beautiful paradise they had created. Everything their creatures needed was available, and all they had to do to enjoy it forever was to obey the laws their creators had made. What could be easier?
Now it was time for the beings meant to live and reign supreme over everything on the planet, except their creators, finally got to leave the spaceship. They were called the terrestrials, Homo habilis and Homo erectus, both of whom looked very much alike. Their human-like shapes did have some variations with some covered in hair and others having some form of physical deformities. These beings were of various shapes and sizes - fat, thin, tall and short. Some were even missing an eye or a limb or even had over-exaggerated features, such as unusually large heads or extra fingers or toes. But they were of only two skin tones, those coming down one ramp were white, and those on the other one were black, and they were either male or female.
The humans quickly started to explore their new surroundings and began engaging in all sorts of activities, including picking fruits, playing together and petting the animals around them. The extra-terrestrials moved among them easily since these more primitive terrestrials couldn’t see them, except as quick moving beams of light. A few even noticed the lights and communicated excitedly with each other using grunting noises and hand signals to express themselves.
The extra-terrestrials decided it was time to let their greatest creation on this new territory know of their presence. The name of ‘God’ was selected for this revelation and the choice to speak as one (which was an ability only their kind had) was agreed upon. This way, they were able to meld their minds together and speak in unison with one vision.
The terrestrial suddenly heard a booming voice that made them stop and listen, trembling in awe.
“Hear me, you terrestrials,” the voice announced. “I am God and Master of the universe and of you as well. You have been given this wonderful planet to live on. All you have to do is to give heed to my words and all will be well for you.”
The terrestrials were so frightened that they screamed and ran in all directions. They hid wherever they could, and some huddled together for protection. Looking around they couldn’t find the source of the strange voice. Although they understood what was said, they did not know where the voice came from and how to respond. Their minds, newly created, were not ready to absorb all that was being said so suddenly, and so fear grew within them.
Realizing their mistake in rushing this process, the extra-terrestrials huddled together in beams of light for consultation. This awed their creations - humans and animals alike.
Then God said, “Don’t be afraid. I am your creator and protector and would never harm you. I am here to guide in the fulfillment of your dreams by taking the right actions. Trust me, and I will teach you how to do this.”
The terrestrials were calmed a little and began to feel better as they realized that this other being did not mean to harm but to guide and protect them. They were happy to know that in their minds they had a new powerful friend that looked beautiful in the form of the light beams. A few even tried to venture closer, but the light became too bright, and they had to go back or be blinded. Soon, they all settled down and listened intently to everything that was said. Since he was being so good to them, they were determined to make God, their new friend and protector, happy with them. This way, he would have no reason to hurt them.
Their God was not finished speaking. “My dear creations, this is your home now. It is called the Garden of Eden and perfectly conditioned for you to live a wonderful life. Outside of this garden is not where you would ever want to be. Take my word for it. That’s why obeying God’s law is of paramount importance. You are expected to take care of the plants and animals as well as each other. Causing harm to yourself or to others is wrong, so never try to do that. You may eat of the plants and animals in this garden. You may love each other and even mate with each other, but only to those of your own race.. White males and females can only mix with each other, and the same rule goes for the blacks. Mixing across race is not allowed, so that needs to end right now.
If you disobey my laws, I will become angry. Then I’ll have no choice but to expel you from the Garden of Eden and this amazing way of life I have freely given to you. Outside the garden, you will lose the happiness and love that reigns here. The law about race is unpardonable once broken. The consequence of breaking this law is the immediate expulsion of not only the ones who did it, but also of all other terrestrials. Follow these laws and obey me and you’ll be happy.”
The booming voice ceased, and the gravity of the last words left the terrestrials feeling afraid, once more. To their understanding, this part of the message meant that if their protector was not obeyed, then they would lose the only home they knew. For fear of this happening, blacks and whites immediately separated from each other with looks varying from fear to outright disgust. Whatever was the reason for them to stay apart, each race thought it had to be the other’s fault. Why else would the voice of God add this rule other than to keep them from doing something horrible to each other?
Disobedience meant automatic expulsion, and no matter how primitive these versions of humans were, there was no question that they understood nothing good could come from being driven out of the Garden of Eden. Living in paradise was exactly where they wanted to stay. So, they went back to their ways like before, but whites and blacks no longer mingled. That was the law of God, and none of them was willing to face the consequences of its disobedience.
Finally, a new creation exited the ship. This time it was a man, but he looked quite different from the others. He not only had zero deformities but also, his hair didn’t cover his whole body, and he could speak perfectly using words instead of grunts. The new white man looked around taking in everything. His mind was more advanced, and he had already been acquainted with the rules of God. Walking towards his white brethren, he was surprised by how different he was from them. He almost felt a sense of revulsion, looking at them. Nevertheless, he quelled the feeling and went and stood among them.
