Day 1 it has started
No one knew what was happening, all of a sudden there was warnings everywhere, people screaming and running….like that would do any good. Me and my brother were left alone at home as our parents had turned into zombies but I couldn’t tell my brother the truth, it would crush him.
“Brother I’m scared, whats going on?” Alex whispers to me.
I whisper quietly to him “shh dont worry everything will be alright”
I want to tell him but he’s too young to understand what is happening and what will happen if we leave.
I was able to get my father’s gun but I doubt it will do any sort of good, I’m not sure what would kill the zombies or if we can turn them back to humans
“Come on Alex lets get some food from the fridge” I pull Alex to the kitchen while staying low so no one sees us.
I rummage through the fridge grabbing some snacks and giving most of them to Alex since he is younger and needs it more than I before I lead him up towards our bedroom so we can at least try to get some sleep.
“Eat what you can Al, then try to sleep, I’ll be right here for you okay.”
Alex nods and whispers “don’t leave me Maxie, please don’t leave I dont want to be alone when I wake up”
I smile softly and wrap my arm around him “cheer up bro, I wouldn’t leave you even if the world was on fire, now come on and get some sleep”
He finally relaxes long enough to drift to sleep and luckly stays asleep all night.
