Summary

If destiny or the fates are real, they certainly have a twisted sense of humor. Of course the moment Nikki Paterson starts questioning her place in the world is when all the rules change. First thrown completely off kilter by a violet eyed stranger and a shared dance one night at her favorite club, then flipped on its head entirely when, one by one, everyone she thinks she knows turns out to be complete strangers. Or at least, they might as well be. The plan for the summer before her final year at University was to simply go home, work on her family's farm, make some memories and cash, and then finally begin the next chapter of her life, with her two best friends in the city. But, of course, it can't be that simple, and destiny has other plans when she's attacked by a group of monsters in the woods and then promptly thrown into a world she would have never imagined could possibly exist beyond fairytales and fiction. Awakening is the first part in a 3-part mature, supernatural romantasy. It is a slow burn, plot-heavy novel with themes of enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and a strong female main character with a harrowing back story.
