Chapter 1: The War
SRISTI POV:-
"Please don't run princess..."
"For God's Sake slow down princess..."
"And for that God's sake only, you catch me." I said running in the corridors of the mansion.
I hit my mom with my shoulder on the way.
"आप इतनी सुबह दौड़ क्यो रही हैं?"
"Why are you running so early in the morning??" My mom shouted at me from behind. Her sound faded behind as I ran towards the rooftop.
I ran all the way up with nearly the whole palace chasing me.
"जाईए अब आप आज़ाद हैं!!"
"Go now you are free!!" I said as I stretched my arm towards the sky, while the white pegion flew from hands.
"All for a pegion, huh??" My brother asked me.
"आप कब सुधरेंगी, सृष्टि?"
"When will you improve, Sristi??" He asked softly, patting my head with his fingers.
I smiled.
"When you will accept me as I am. I will be improved in your perspective."
"You, your literature and both of yours own world." He sighed.
"Are you irritated??" I looked at him with my big almond eyes.
He looked at me.
"No, just... I 🤔 think I am..." He showed me his tongue and ran away.
"Just you wait, bhai sa.." I ran behind him.
"Rana Sa..." A commander called my Baba.(father)
"Hmm. Speak." He said looking him straight into his eyes.
"Our troops have successfully reached Agra, we will soon be hearing the trumpets 🎺 of victory." He said with gleaming eyes.
"May your words come true." My baba, said with hope.
"But baba..." I started to speak from behind the curtains.
All the ladies in the personal or public court had to be behind the curtains and a viel.
This felt like confinement but If one wants to attend the court, they are ought to be bound to these confinements.
"Yes."
"Isn't it wrong of us to attack another Rajputs' kingdom all unannounced." I said still thinking upon the sanity of the act that is yet to be committed.
"It was their ancestors Sristi, who started this enemity. We are just returning it."
"But doesn't war destroy lives?? Isn't forgiveness the prime fixer of relationships."
"But do you think, only we need to be the one to forgive??" He said looking straight in my eyes.
"But returning the same treatment won't change the lust of either of us to have an upper hand on each other." I said.
"I know.. Yet I don't want to be the one to forgive." He said rising from his seat.
The whole court rose up from their respective seats as well. All nobles, women, servants, everyone's eyes were at me and baba.
"But..." I said trying to talk to him, yet words refused to get out of my mouth.
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING." He stormed out of the court.
My eyes swelled with tears. This is not what we Rajputs do. We forgive, we don't attack unannounced.
I ran from there.
Due to an ancestral enemity, why should the present people suffer. Why must the husbands die and women become widows, why must the dads die and children become fatherless or why must an old couple see their kid's death before theirs'. What was their fault? Did they ask for it? NO.
सच, जब बुद्धि भ्रष्ट होती हैं, तो विवेक सबसे पहले मर जाता हैं||
Really, When wisdom is destroyed, the very first to die is discretion.
I ran to my room and fell on my bed crying about the destruction that was bound to happen. What can I do?? Just remorse is my method repenting.
That's all for now.
Thanks for reading.
