A man, a leader, a chieftain, Neel Khuswaha Bhumji bore the weight of his entire tribe on his broad shoulders—his followers, his subjects, his mothers, daughters, sisters, and brothers. The realm he led was fraught with unrest against Rangavarta: tax evasion, conflict between royals and untouchables, and a simmering tension among those who were tanned and lower than the Shudras—brutal and bloodthirsty, yet shaped by nature’s harsh hand.
