Chapter 1
It was a sunny, breezy morning in Mariland, and My Melody was humming her favourite tune as she baked a fresh batch of strawberry cloud muffins for her friends.
Pompompurin was doing what he did best: chilling under his favourite tree with his best beret on, daydreaming about pudding and maybe a second breakfast.
Just as My Melody pulled the tray of muffins out of the oven , they vanished in a sparkle of glitter and a puff of cinnamon-scented smoke!
“OH NO!” she squeaked, ears flapping in surprise. “My muffins!”
Word traveled fast in Mariland (especially when it involved snacks). Pompompurin waddled over, licking his lips. “Wait... there were muffins?? Who would steal muffins?!”
Determined to solve the mystery, the two friends teamed up and followed a trail of sparkly sugar crumbs through the town. They questioned Kuromi (who denied everything but looked suspicious), asked Cinnamoroll (who offered them cinnamon rolls), and even checked the Misty Meadow, where magical things often went poof.
Eventually, they found a tiny note tied to a sugar crystal:
“Sorry for borrowing the muffins!
I needed them for the Muffin Moon Festival.
Come to the Whisker Woods at sundown! ”
Intrigued (and a little hungry), My Melody and Pompompurin followed the trail into Whisker Woods, where a surprise awaited them: the forest critters had thrown a secret Muffin Moon Party, andMy Melody’s muffins were the centre piece !
Turns out, the enchanted forest had borrowed her muffins for a celebration and now, they wanted her and Pompompurin to be the guests of honour .
They danced, they sang, they ate way too many muffins and pudding, and under the glowing Muffin Moon, My Melody whispered, “I guess sometimes, sweet surprises find you when you least expect it.”
Pompompurin burped and nodded. “Especially if muffins are involved.”
