Got to know when to stop

"This isn't my normal genre but I was sucked in by the plot. The characters were strong, well set up, developed to a point that a teenager would be. The story tells a familiar bullying tale of high school hijinks, with a more serious tone settling in before long. The main villain meets their end in a non typical way, I was expecting a few more chapters to end the tale but apparently that isn't the authors intent. Now we get a new possible villain / love interest for one of the main characters which seems forced to me. I would have expected this new twist to be in the second book. I'll leave this for 6 months, see what happens when it inevitably ends. I'll update the review once I finish it. "
