“Sometimes People Just Suck”
The first time she smiled I wanted to set the world on fire and build her a throne from the ashes.
As I walk into school, I see her—my lady, Rose. She's standing by her locker, hair lit up by the sunlight through the window. I start walking toward her, heart full, chest warm—
And then Kaleb slams me to the ground with his shoulder.
"Move out the way FAG!" he shouts as he laughs with his friends. I don't even care anymore. It's the same old routine. "Or you can make friends with the ground!"
I pick myself up and stand next to my lady. Everyone is eyeing us and laughing. Whispers fill the halls. I'm tired of this bullshit.
"Did you see the way she cut her hair?" So what if my hair is short?
"OMG the other day I saw them kiss... yuck" Thats my girlfriend shit dick. You can't even get one.
"Can you believe those two faggots live here?" Oh no thats so horrible... Fuck you.
"They need god." Well if god needs me he can always talk to me.
"Ignore them babe..." My lady whispers to me. She rubs my back and smiles.
Her smile is my sun.
The world could go black and she will be my light. I could decay and I would still move mountains to see her smile. I take her hand in mine and grab my bag. When I close the locker door I see it had been vandalized again.
"I hate this god driven school," I mumble under my breath.
"I do too... Sometimes people just suck" My lady whispers back as we walk to the library.
