Prologue

Third POV:-

In a quiet village where time moves like a slow river, a woman named Vasundhara finds herself drawn to the white lotus pond every evening.

Wrapped in an off-white saree, she lets her fingers dance over the water’s surface, creating ripples that seem to echo whispers only she can hear.

But Vasu isn't just admiring the flowers—she's waiting.

The pond is said to hold the memories of those who once walked its banks, and every night, she feels the presence of someone she lost long ago.

A love that never truly faded.

One evening, as the sun dips below the horizon, a voice murmurs her name from the water. 

Vasu never thought the dreams she always had , carried a mystical connection to this pond.

The same pond that  hidden itself in the depths of the forest, forgotten for generations of Janakpuri.

Each night, she dreamed of a place bathed in silver moonlight, where the scent of lotus flowers lingered in the air and a shadowed figure stood by the water’s edge, whispering her name.

The dreams were always the same—soft ripples on the surface, a white lotus drifting toward her, and a voice just out of reach.

One evening, unable to ignore the pull any longer, she ventured deeper into the forest, following an old pathway swallowed by time.

When she finally found the pond, untouched and serene, her heart pounded.

It was exactly as she had seen in her dreams.

Kneeling by the water, she traced her fingers through its cool surface.

A strange sensation crawled up her skin, as if the pond recognized her touch.

Then, just as the last rays of sunlight faded,

the water shifted—lotus petals swayed unnaturally, and from the reflection, a familiar pair of eyes stared back at her.

Vasu gasped. The face in the water was not hers.
