I still remember it as if it had happened yesterday. My fluffy dress, my freshly ironed hair, the excitement I had, it was my 13 birthday.

I had all my friends over nd my parents friends were also there, my bestie jade was yapping abt how some guy looked handsome while doing her hair. Every one was there, all the ppl I cared abt. As I was getting my stuff organized my mom came in

“aspen honey, everyone is waiting, it’s time for your grand entrance.” My mom said excitedly.

I smile nd head out to the hallway, my bestie jade walks behind me as we head down the stairs, all of a sudden I feel a hand on my back.

The only thing I remember was falling down the stairs scraping my arm nd legs. I look up nd to my horror I flashed everyone, i was seconds to crying nd my mom was no where to be seen. Then outta the crowd Jeremy came rushing to me put his jacket around me nd led me out.

“Are u okay? How did you fall? Come on let sit here.” Jeremy said to me looking worried nd directing me to a large rock?

I sit on the rock and focus on the sand on my feet so i dont cry, i am about to wipe my face with my hand but Jeremy stops me nd looks at me with pity eyes.

“No, here let me do it, you hve scrapes on ur hands you migth infect it.” Says jeremy, while cleaning my face with his sleeves.

I was so surprised with his kindness, i don’t remember him being like this with me. like ever. I couldn’t help but admire his face under the setting sun. Jeremy is your typical quiet guy, he’s really reserved and only talks around people he is comfortable with. I’ve known him since we were babies, well obviously since are mom’s are best friends. So basically i could say we’re childhood friends.

Honestly, my 13th birthday was a disaster but thanks to jeremy i would never forget it. And why? Well because it was the first time my heart did a somersault for a boy.

it was on my 13th birthday, when i started to fall for Jeremy.

“Aspen,hello?earth to aspen!” Said Ivy as she snapped me outta my thougths.

Sighh, am back to reality, its not my 13 birthday nd am not with jeremy in the beach. Am in my room with my best friend nd am a 15 year old.

I look at ivy “Huh?, sorry i-i got distracted, what were you saying?” I said to ivy.

“Omg, nvm i was saying how that b*itch jade was talking shit abt you” said ivy looking really annoyed

“Okay? So how do you even know ths?” I asked genuinely concerned abt how ivy always has heard the latest gossip nd rumors.

“Libby told me, she heard jade talking to her friends abt you in the locker room, nd let me tell you, it wasnt anything nice.” Said ivy in a duh voice as if i was supposed to know that.

I was abt to respond to ivy but mom came in nd said that ivy’s mom was here to pick her up.

“Okay, anyway bye ash. Call me later.” Said ivy as she waved goodbye leaving my room.

As ivy left, I cleaned up my room nd then crashed on my bed.sighhhh.

Me and ivy have been inseparable since the 8th grade. As ivy likes to say she adopted me nd now am stuck with her forever. I smile at the memorie of when she first said that.

I decide to go to bed early since tomorrow is monday, sigh i look at the clock 11:45. So much for going to sleep early. I close my eyes nd fall asleep.
