Chapter 1

The Boatman and the Mirage

In the middle of the ocean, there stood a boatman. Around him, there was nothing but water. The sea was calm, the weather warm and pleasant. But the boatman was alone, for the ship he had trusted had already abandoned him in the middle of the journey.

In the distance, a shore seemed to appear. The boatman began to row in that direction. Yet, he had no idea what lay on that shore. Perhaps there were dangerous creatures there, perhaps there was nothing at all. Despite this uncertainty, he held on to the hope of something good and continued to row.

Though he didn’t know what awaited him, his heart was filled with a mixture of fear, excitement, and hope as he moved forward.

So, what awaited him there? Was it truly a shore, or just a mirage?
