GRIEF

The sun goes down as children are playing together smiling and giggling, then they realized that its getting late and that their parents might get worried, they go to their village away from the forest they were playing at, to find the village in flames, the enemy kingdom snuck in the territory and attacked. There were people fighting for their lives, dead people, ground filled with the blood of whom dared to fight back. He ran to his home to find his only family ,his sister dead. a giant wooden plank from a roof fell on her, she was dead.

He was horrified and saw those who were still alive and still could fight getting dragged in a life full of torture they were about to become slaves.

The main character/protagonist is 15 years old, he had mostly a happy and good life he realized those getting forcefully taken were shown their dead family to put fear in them , he was crying holding his sister , screaming her name desprate for an answer , then he heard a faint voice laughing, it was the prince of the enemy kingdom, he was laughing at the miseray of those who are crying, then someone grabbed the main character, it was a gaurd.  They noticed him and because he was young and healthy, he would make a good  knight, while most were not moving, not doing anything, because of the fear and shock they never had to go thru, and now something like this?!

the main character was screaming and kicking. He was easy to spot. He was the only one... with a spark of hope still inside

The prince noticed him and walked over to the protagonist . The prince was clearly around the age of the main character. The prince mocked the main character and commanded to have the main characters name be grief as a reminder of this day.

And as a way to make him realize this was the day he lost his identity

They threw him in a cell , like they did to many others. Those who got dragged to this dark place had to live together, there was mostly 10 people in each cell, who all got to share a dish that couldn't even fill one person

They had to work for this unfamiliar place. They got tortured, day and night, they all couldn't do anything but watch the horror happen every day.

Grief would see tears in the torturers eyes.he thought it was all fake,  a plan to make them see small things, as if those sickos could relate to his pain.

Months go by with this torture , those who could still stand after this were seen as potential knights while the rest did labor that benefits the kingdom.

Grief's hatred grew by every site he saw in that disgusting place. It was pure pain, every scream, every cry

It was disturbing how those sick bastards kept on going.it was like they didn't have empathy? Or was it the aftermath of living in such a cold-hearted place. after all, grief has the same outcome if it really was because of that

.He couldn't help but smile at the thought of the fear and regret in the kings eyes. The inoccence was sucked out of that poor child. at least he remembered his sister  she was the only reason he didn't kill himself... he would always remind himself

if not himself for her

. He had become a knight after all he had indurd, mostly. He had to work for the king as well, but he was classified as free from the torture. Well, the prince didn't like that. He wanted to make the life of grief a living hell. Just because he was like a slave to him, he would beat him up, bullie him with  his 'friends' and just try to  him in every way possible ...

But grief kept quiet, he wouldnt try and defend himself. He would stay calm , get up, bow, and walk away. The prince grew tired, and he saw what grief was doing as 'inhuman' There is no person that doesn't snap eventually , his father told him that those peasants only deserved pain, that they were bad humans in their past life, and god punished them by making them slaves to whom were good people in their past lives . The prince never questioned it. It was because he was scared of his father, and every mistake meant he would be executed. He had 2 brothers and 1 sister. His oldest daughter didn't want an arranged marriage. She was in love with the young butler.it was like a novel. But a series ends. just like her, and the butlers lives

They both got killed by a traitor (the oldest son) he got framed  because he liked femininen things. And than it was his other older brother, he snaped at their father. Exposing his deeds and next day . He died of 'suicide' and the young prince knew it all , the secrets, the  psycho of a father, he just didnt want to be next. And as the next head  he had to be perfect, his father wanted the prince to be just like him, a cruel discusting excuse of a man

He warned his son, one wrong move and he would be next... there were always butlers and gaurds around him. His father forced him to do things. Something, Anything, just anything, to make the people hate his guts, and if he made a mistake , his father would "realizes" how bad his actions were and just swoop in and be there hero , by killing him too

The young prince got discusted by every action  he would gaslight himself into believing the lies his father made up, just to feel less guilty

The truth haunts the prince but he keeps going forward, on the hope of seeing his father die, becoming the head,and not doing the same to his own kids. The prince realized he would become as insane as his father one day

So what is the point???

What's the point of life??

Why was it so hard to just be genuinely happy

He asked, "Why would they be so cruel?"
