Chapter 1

I sat in the club,in the same booth I always sat in. I've been coming here for one year, three months, and twelve days. It's only been for one reason. I'm hoping that I will see her again.

One year, three months, and twelve days before

I had been sitting in the same booth that would one day soon become my personal spot. I had to "let someone go" from my company. I smirked as I sipped from my drink.

It had been pretty easy getting rid of the guy, but he had been amazing at his job. It was going to be hard to find a new fit. I sighed as I twirled the drink in my hand.

I don't know what made me look up, but when I did,my eyes landed on the girl. She was a tiny little thing,no more than 4'8. She had long black hair that was darker than mine and waved down to the tops of her tighs. Seriously, the girl seemed to be all hair from what I could see. I hadn't even seen her face yet, and I was already entranced. And then she turned around.

She was as gorgeous as an angel. Pale skin that was so soft and creamy and glowed under the strobe lights. Deep blue eyes that were wide as a doe's. Cheeks flushed with color and perfect red lips. She was laughing with a group of friends, but I could detect a hint of discomfort. A slight waver in her bright smile. She didn't want to be here. But she was putting on a brave face for her friends.

They went to dance but she stayed behind. As if sensing my gaze, her eyes flicked towards mine. She gave me a small smile and a wave before turning back to the bartender. She ordered a drink but when she went to pay for it,the man refused. She tried again, and I saw his lips form the words "On the house." The girl blushed and smiled gratefully, thanking him. She was one of those types. The girl who could get anything she wanted with a simple smile but didn't realize exactly how much power over people she had. She probably just thought the world was a nice place. I smiled at her innocence, then stood and made my way towards her.

I sat on a barstool next to her and tapped her shoulder to get her attention. She turned and gave me another bright smile.

"I was wondering when you would come over here." She said.

"Oh. Were you so sure that I would?"

"Well I hoped. Otherwise, I would have thought you were just a creepy stalker guy."

"Maybe I am. I'm just braver than most."

She giggled. "I'm Ilora."

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.I'm Adam."

She held out her hand to shake mine."Nice to meet you."

Holding her gaze,I gently grabbed her hand and placed a kiss on it. "A pleasure to meet you as well."

We were only able to talk for about thirty minutes before her friends said it was time to go to the next club. I wanted to get her number, but they were already pulling her away. I cursed as my chance to see her again slipped away.

Present day

That is why I come back to this spot every night,in the hopes that I can see her again. My phone rang and I answered it.

"What?"

"I think we found her boss."

My heart stuttered. "Are you sure?"

"She fits your description. I'll send a pic."

My phone buzzed and I opened my messages. There was a picture of a woman crossing the street.Same pale skin. Same long black hair. Same tilt to the corners of her mouth. It was her.I placed the phone back at my ear.

"Where does she live?"

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters.
