Blood Moon

The screams of his mother still echoed in his ears.

Adrian cowered in the shadows of the stone wall, small fists clenched so tightly his nails broke skin. The scent of blood — thick and coppery — filled the air. It clung to his nose, his throat, his soul.

"Useless bitch," his father snarled, another brutal kick slamming into her side. She coughed blood onto the cold floor, eyes flickering toward Adrian. Silently begging him to run. To survive.

But something inside Adrian snapped.

He stood, trembling — not with fear, but something far, far darker. His bones cracked. His skin burned. Pain like fire erupted through every inch of him as his wolf, long buried, tore free for the first time.

Through blurred vision, he saw his father's shock. His amusement. His mistake.

Adrian lunged.

The beast inside him — young, wild, and merciless — sunk its fangs into flesh. Hot blood sprayed across the room. His father's howls turned to gurgled gasps. Bones shattered. The monster that had worn the face of his hero fell limp at his feet.

The silence that followed was deafening.

Standing over the broken corpse, Adrian shifted back. A boy no longer. His hands, his face, his soul — all stained with crimson.

He looked up at the rising blood moon through the shattered windows and whispered hoarsely,

"If the Moon Goddess existed, she would have stopped this."

And in that moment, Adrian realized something that would haunt him forever:

Monsters weren’t born. They were made.
