Chapter 1
A young girl ran down the streets, her blond hair flying behind her as she pushed past people.
“Hey!”
“Watch it!”
The girl looked behind her, scared out of her mind before she continued running. The girl didn’t stop, didn’t pause for a breath, just kept running. The blond ran out into the road, not noticing the car coming straight to her.
The bystanders gasped as the small body hit the ground “Oh my God! Someone call 9-1-1!” A woman yelled rushing towards the girl, not knowing what to do. The cab driver got out, staring at the girl in horror.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t see her!”
The girl laid on the ground unmoving.
Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler walked through the hospital door, “Detectives.” The Doctor, Amara Grey, greeted the two detectives.
“Doctor, what we got?” Elliot asked.
“Young teen, around 15 or 16. Brought in an hour ago, hit by a taxi driver.” Dr. Grey told them, walking towards the patient room.
“Okay, why were we called here?” Olivia asked.
“Because” Dr. Grey stopped in front of an X-Ray, turning it on “Your girl has several bones that haven’t healed correctly, broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, vaginal tearing. Whatever happened to this girl, she was put through hell.”
Olivia and Elliot looked into the room, where the teen was sleeping in bed, her arm in a cast.
Elliot walked into the office, Fin stood at the Command center “Where’s Olivia?” Fin asked.
“She’s at the hospital waiting for our girl to wake up.” Elliot told him, taking off his suit jacket. “Did you find anything on her?” he asked.
Fin nodded “I ran the picture you sent me, through our database. Jane Doe’s name is Alice Murray, she was reported missing alongside her best friend Katie Tanner 2 years ago.”
Elliot read the file they got on her.
“Alice Murray. Went missing at 14 years old, reported missing by Charlotte and Evan Tanner, Katie’s parents. Looks like Alice’s parents died a year before she went missing, and the two took her in.”
“The detective assigned to the case believed the two ran away but the parents were adamant that Alice wouldn’t run.”
Elliot gave Fin a look “Not about their own daughter?”
Fin shook his head “According to them Katie has been known to run away at least twice a month. That’s why they didn’t report either of them missing since Katie always comes back in a day or two. According to Mrs. Tanner, it was when she went to get Alice for breakfast and noticed she wasn’t there, she knew something had happened and reported them missing.”
Elliot nodded “I’ll let Liv know.” He pulled out his phone.
“Yeah, thanks El.” Olivia hung up, sighing.
“Good news?” Dr. Grey asked, walking back with a box.
“Jane Doe’s name is Alice Murry.” Olivia grabbed the rape kit, handing it to one of the other officers, “Get this to the lab.” The police officer nodded and left, Olivia signed out the kit. “When can Alice leave?” Olivia asked.
“Once she wakes up. She will have to take some meds for a few days but there’s no reason to keep her here overnight, the hit didn’t cause to munch damage.” Dr. Grey and Olivia walked towards Alice’s room, only to stop when they saw the room empty and the clothes and bag that were on the chair gone.
“Damn it.” Olivia groaned, rushing out the room, pulling out her phone “El, Alice ran, get Fin and Munch to look at the cameras.”
Elliot rushed to Fin “Fin, pull up the hospital cameras. Look to see if Alice is still there.”
Fin nodded, and quickly, pulled up the live feed, thankfully the hospital allowed them into the servers only for cases. “I got her, she’s in the lobby.”
“Liv get to the lobby.”
“Thanks.” Olivia hung up and ran, ditching the elevator and rushing down the stairs. Olivia ran into the lobby, looking around when she found Alice “Alice!”
Alice looked behind her, eyes widened at the sight of Olivia and rushed out of the hospital, Olivia right behind her “Alice wait!” Olivia yelled.
Alice tried running but the pain in her arm and ribs slowed her down enough for Olivia to grab her “No! No, let me go!” Alice yelled trying to get out of her hold.
“Alice! Alice, it’s okay” Olivia tried to calm Alice down, pulling her badge off her belt “Look. Look, I’m a cop.” She showed Alice her badge.
Alice stopped struggling, breathing heavily as she stared at the badge “Y-Your police?” she asked.
Olivia nodded, smiling softly at her “Yeah, I’m police.” When Alice didn’t fight against her anymore, she wrapped her arm around Alice’s shoulder “Come on. Let’s get you somewhere warm.”
