Chapter 1

he morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on the messy room. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers outside, and the distant chirping of birds added to the serene atmosphere.

Woone groggily opened his eyes, realizing he overslept. He cursed himself, throwing off the covers and jumping out of bed.

“Stupid alarm clock! I’m going to be late!”

He rushed to Yeona’s room, gently pushing open the door. Yeona was still asleep, her soft breathing a soothing sound.

Woone smiled, walking over to her bedside. He gently kissed her forehead, whispering,

“Good morning, lraki jan. Don’t do anything crazy today, okay? Stay safe.” Yeona stirred, murmuring something incoherent, and Woone chuckled.

Back in his room, Woone quickly got dressed in his usual attire - a black hoodie and jeans that accentuated his athletic build. His chiselled features and piercing gaze made him a magnet for admiring glances.

University was not his favourite place, but he had to be there. Woone had no interest in making friends; instead, he revelled in the thrill of making enemies.

His sharp tongue and quick wit made him a formidable opponent in any debate or confrontation. As he headed out the door, he thought about the upcoming semester, feeling a mix of anticipation and boredom.

The drive to university was uneventful, with Woone lost in his thoughts. As he parked his bike, he noticed a sea of unfamiliar faces rushing to their classes.

Woone smirked, his eyes scanning the crowd. Every second girl couldn’t help but glance at him, their eyes lingering on his chiselled features. Woone’s expression remained stoic, unfazed by the attention.

As he walked through the campus gates, Woone’s presence commanded attention. His broad shoulders and confident stride made him stand out in the crowd.

Girls whispered to each other, their eyes darting towards him, while guys eyed him with a mix of admiration and wariness. Woone revealed in the attention, but it didn’t faze him. He knew his reputation as a bad boy preceded him.

As Woone walked into the lecture hall, a group of girls caught sight of him and swooned. They gathered around him, giggling and batting their eyelashes.

One of them, a blonde with a bubbly personality, took the initiative, sidling up to Woone and running her hand through her hair.

“Hey, you’re so cute! We haven’t seen you around before. What’s your name?” she asked, her voice dripping with flirtation.

Woone raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. “My name is on notice board. Go and get it from there. And I’m not here to make friends or be your next crush.”

The girls tittered, thinking he was playing hard to get. One of them, a brunette with a bold attitude, reached out to grab his hand.

“Aww, come on, Honey! Don’t be rude. We’re just trying to get to know you.”

Woone’s expression turned icy as he snatched his hand away. “Don’t touch me without permission. And if you’re looking for a sugar daddy or a notch on your bedpost, you’re barking up the wrong tree.”

The girls’ faces fell, their smiles faltering. “Wow, okay, Mr. Grumpy Pants. No need to be rude,” one of them snapped.

Woone’s gaze swept over them, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I was supposed to be grateful for your attention. Newsflash: I’m not impressed. You’re not even on my radar.”

The girls’ faces reddened as they realized Woone wasn’t playing games. They quickly dispersed, muttering under their breath. Woone watched them go, unfazed.

As the lecture began, Woone settled into his seat, his eyes scanning the room. He spotted a few guys looking his way, their expressions wary. Woone’s lips curled into a smirk.

He knew his reputation preceded him - the bad boy with a sharp tongue and a penchant for trouble.

As the lecture ended, Woone stood up, his bag slung over his shoulder. He hadn’t paid attention to the teacher, his mind preoccupied with his own thoughts.

As he walked towards the exit, he spotted Haya, his arch-nemesis, standing by the door. Her piercing gaze met his, and Woone’s expression darkened.

Haya’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she sauntered towards Woone. “Well, well, well, kitten. Looks like you’re having a bad day. And it’s only getting better,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Woone’s eyes narrowed. “What do you want, Haya? Don’t tell me you’re here to stroke my ego after those girls fawned all over me?”

Haya chuckled, unfazed by Woone’s jab. “Oh, babygirl’s got claws, does she? But I’m not here to flatter you. I just wanted to see if you’re as bitter as you look.”

Woone snorted. “Bitter? You’re one to talk, Haya. You’re so desperate for attention that you’d sell your soul to be the centre of drama.”

Haya’s smile never wavered. “At least I’m not as predictable as you, Woone. You’re like a broken record - always playing the same tune of ‘I’m a bad boy, fear me.’”

Woone’s eyes flashed with anger, but his voice remained calm, laced with venom.

“You’re just mad because you’re not as sharp as me, Haya. Your insults are as dull as your personality.”

The air was electric with tension as the two enemies exchanged barbs. Their words were like knives, slicing through the air, each one aimed at the other’s jugular. But neither Woone nor Haya would back down. They were evenly matched, their wit and sarcasm locked in a battle of wills.

As Woone and Haya stormed into the cafeteria, their argument escalated, drawing attention from other students. Their words cut deep, each one a precise jab aimed at the other’s weak spots.

“You think you’re clever, don’t you, Haya? But you’re just a master manipulator,” Woone sneered.Haya’s eyes flashed with anger.

“At least I’m not a one-dimensional bad boy with a bad attitude. You’re as predictable as a sunrise.”

Their verbal sparring continued, with neither willing to back down. But just as Woone was about to storm out of the cafeteria, he collided with someone.

A girl with piercing brown eyes and short, dark brown hair stumbled backwards, her books slipping from her grasp. A beautiful mole under her lower lip was a chery on top.

Without thinking, Woone reached out, grasping her arms to steady her. His hands wrapped around her slender wrists, holding her upright.

For a moment, time froze. Woone’s gaze locked onto hers, and he felt a jolt of electricity run through his body.

As he helped her regain her balance, Woone’s stony facade cracked.

He stuttered, his voice barely above a whisper, “I-I’m s-sorry... What’s your... name?”

The girl’s cheeks flushed, and she smiled softly. “I’m new ....I’m S ...?”

Before she could tell her name, one of her friends dragged her away from woone.

Woone’s eyes lingered on her face, taking in the delicate features and full lips.

He forgot about Haya, forgot about the argument, and forgot about everything except the girl standing in front of him.

For the first time, the bad boy’s tough exterior crumbled, revealing a glimmer of vulnerability Woone’s heart skipped a beat as he gazed at Seher, his mind reeling with the realization that he was captivated by her beauty.

For the first time, the bad boy stuttered, and the game of love began.

“We will meet again.” He whispered to himself before going out with a last look at her.
